@thebandbeventers no offence but english is boring, I only jump cuz i love my horse and he loves jumping... gameing classes are way more fun. my horse yawns when we do barrels and poles and a barrel horse ik pulls on the bit and trys to entertan her self when u jump her. (doesnt matter what classes u enter on eather one... but my horse does perk up when we do the apple race.... he also knocks the apple off trying to eat it

(Both are ex jumpers but the sj is starting again and the hunter has really good lines and he was well known but he got hurt and now he might start barrels wit me XD lol that should go well)
@CarlyHorsefreek ......you don't see saw the rains or pull to make them arch their neck... thats exactly what you're not supposed to do. you use leg to hand to get them in front of your leg then with light but consistant contact they will soften and become more supple in your hand where then you can hold the frame with your supportive leg.

I own a CO GR8, and I love it. Where I show I see more of the COs. You should go to your local tack shop and try on both styles to see which helmet fits you the best. :)

I have a question. Some of you people on here seem to have some knowledge of jumping. I ride western but I bought a 5yr old paint mare and she can jump. I've seen her jump a 71/2 foot gap from a stand still, but only jump a 2foot jump and almost knocked it down. I was wondering if there's a sport that focuses on that kind of jumping. I know nothing about jumping but it looks like so much fun.

great mover, the horse looks effortless to jump...I ride Hunter as well and love it, I show a dark bay-black warmblood gelding and he prefers Jumper, sadly he's been sold and I wont be seeing him anymore, but he's gotten me 1st places like crazy, I was the only one willing to show him, but now I have to ride a paint mare so I'll probably be docked points due to her colour and breed, but I don't mind...Wish me luck I have a show coming up and I am very nervous... Get some sleep the night before, and make a list of things you need to bring and be sure you have everything the night before and that morning! When you are in the warmup arena dont worry about what others around you are doing, I have a huge problem doing that and my warmup stinks. Breath while you are riding, it makes a huge difference!
oh yeah. and my hunter horse is very good at jumpers. his tight turns and excellent scope can woop your horse's ass any day, if you even HAVE a horse. HA! Your probably just some stupid novice level lesson-taker who rides push-buttons! XDDDD

hey, fuck you! my horse does excellent dressage. It is VERY important to build a hunter horse's dressage skill up. That way they move more gracefully and better off your leg in the ring. My horse can do perfect half passes and he's totally hunter! And I taught him thank you VERY much. >_>

If you knew anything about hunters you would know that it actually does take skill. Jumping one fence perfectly is rather simple, but I jumping all 8 fences in a hunter course without any flaws is almost impossible. Riding hunters is more then "making your horse look pretty". Hunters is based off of fox hunting, it isnt fox hunting. We dont shoot foxes in the arena. And they hunted foxes, not bunnies.

great mover, the horse looks effortless to jump...I ride Hunter as well and love it, I show a dark bay-black warmblood gelding and he prefers Jumper, sadly he's been sold and I wont be seeing him anymore, but he's gotten me 1st places like crazy, I was the only one willing to show him, but now I have to ride a paint mare so I'll probably be docked points due to her colour and breed, but I don't mind...Wish me luck I have a show coming up and I am very nervous... You have a lovely horse...

Get some sleep the night before, and make a list of things you need to bring and be sure you have everything the night before and that morning! When you are in the warmup arena dont worry about what others around you are doing, I have a huge problem doing that and my warmup stinks. Breath while you are riding, it makes a huge difference!

oh yeah. and my hunter horse is very good at jumpers. his tight turns and excellent scope can woop your horse's ass any day, if you even HAVE a horse. HA! Your probably just some stupid novice level lesson-taker who rides push-buttons! XDDDD

When this video was taken I had probably been riding almost two years, I had a hard time putting a 17hh hhorse into a frame because I just learned how to do that.

@123456candie And not all hunters have to be framed, they just have to be relaxed, happy and quiet with LOW heads, not exactly framed. Good riding :D I won Champ in my divivsion in my first show and 1st over... 6 people lol

Let's not take it so far as saying hunter takes more skill, that's just ridiculous.Have you forgotten that dressage comes into play?Think before you open your mouth;dressage takes the most skill and I don't see you hunters doing any of it nevermind doing it properly.Your discipline is a joke and a disgrace to riding, simple as that.

Some riders that are top level can... was I addressing all hunters? No. When you say some hunter riders do event doesn't that mean that they are eventers in the same sense? hey, fuck you! my horse does excellent dressage. It is VERY important to build a hunter horse's dressage skill up. That way they move more gracefully and better off your leg in the ring. My horse can do perfect half passes and he's totally hunter! And I taught him thank you VERY much. >_>

haha its funny because "candie" is the only sane person here. Anyone who knows anything about riding knows that hunter doesn't take any skill... no offense to all you hunters out there but there's more to riding than making your horse look pretty, haha eventing & dressage is the real deal here people.

If you knew anything about hunters you would know that it actually does take skill. Jumping one fence perfectly is rather simple, but I jumping all 8 fences in a hunter course without any flaws is almost impossible. Riding hunters is more then "making your horse look pretty". It would be smart to learn the facts about a discipline before you attempt to make it look bad...

dude, eventers always complain about how snobby hunter people are, but look at you dumb asses! You're the ones sitting here being shitty towards our people! I respect your discipline a lot for the horses, but man you people just take all the fun out of it. >_> besides, I think it takes almost more skill to do hunters. Do you have any idea how difficult it is for a hunter horse to jump fences that are the same height as your fences in a LOWER frame? So fuck you! XD

wow beautiful round! excellent riding, you def have a bond with your horse!..we attempted hunter/jumper with my appy mare and it was a total fail!..so I know it takes a whole lot of skill to compete in hunter/jumper!
