@Shirgee yea actually aside from them both wearing the same hat, they almost in absolutely no way what so ever resemble each other. Nice observation though.
Yo Marty; I have been looking at your videos for about 3-months now and I must sat I have done good with what you offer for free on You-Tube.... One thing I like to add! After playen what you show I didn’t quite get it to sound right till I tried the “ATTACK” I started to attack the notes as I picked them and did more bends, then the right sound came out of my amp. Maybe you can tell your groupies to try the attack approach it may work like it did for me. You are one of the Grate Ones. BV King
Wonder how Tommy's guitar playin is coming along now, nearly 1 and a half years later? Would be good to see more on how he's progressed since making this video.
The bit where the guy at the start talks about what he's 'thinking' and which scales he's trying where is so valuable...watching people learn this was helps us learn :) Great stuff. Many people talk about scales but rarely say..."try playing this here and it'll sound like this."
of course man, they sound amazing together. doesnt sound diminished in the least. to me it sounds happy, or maybe it just makes me happy cause its what i like to hear :)
Every day I come home from work and check for another lesson. You never disappoint, Marty. This stuff is gold and I have never loved playing guitar so much in my life.
That Yellow Strat is bad ass, I would really like to get that. I am not a fan of the color yellow normally but man that thing just looks cool.

I'm not exaggerating, but you're definitely the best guitar teacher in youtube.
No one else is even close to your standard.

Can you mix Dorian with mixo-blues, or does it sound too diminished for blues?

For me it's difficult to mix Mixolidian with pentathonic.
I mean, there is a big gap in the pentatonic mood (full of bends and so bluesy) and the mixolidian (so jazzy).
You know what i mean?
Can you teach as some mixolidian/bluesy licks?
Great guy, thanks a lot
AirGuitarHero71 2 years ago
play with the mixo more and you can definitely get some bluesy bends out of it. its just the notes you select to bend.
wimpy77 2 years ago
I'll keep on trying.
Thanks
AirGuitarHero71 2 years ago
try bending the major third up to the 5th. its a stretch of bend but its sure tasty.
