  • I'm so glad this woman is off of legitimate news shows....she is horribly under-educated and not qualified to report news of any sort. She is pure fluff and a travesty to genuine journalistic standards

  • I didn't even realize he was dead....this makes me sad. What a great man

  • look for the time Mr. Ed Bradley talked Mick Jagger into joinin da second line in New Orleans, it was a blast to Jagger doin da second line, Charlie was there too, watchin those guys drum and beat out a great rhythem, he was a great man......freak

  • @jimbeaux70427 Mick and Charlie's musical roots are from the Delta so it was the right thing to do.

  • Gone to a better place. Well done Ed.

  • @JonNorCal916 Actually I'm 15 there for I have no idea who this man was.

  • Katie Couric announced the death of Walter Cronkite and Ed Bradley.

She is like the grim reaper of CBS.

I bet everyone at CBS News was glad when she was fired from CBS in 2011.

  • I show several 60 Minutes stories in my class with Ed Bradley at the helm: the 1995 feature on las colonias in Texas, the expose of the Tulia, Texas drug bust and his profile of U2. Even as an African American male he ferociously challenged the U. of Michigan administrators on camera during his report on affirmative action. No disrespect to Mike Wallace or Morley Safer but I always thought Ed Bradley was the best 60 Minutes reporter. He was a textbook model of journalistic excellence.

  • R.I.P. Ed Bradley 1941-2006, We all miss you!

  • He was everything Katie never was or will be.

I bet he even had a nice pair of legs.

  • who is ed bradley????????

  • @meryemhallo1993xl look him up you uneducated dumb cracker....

  • @TACOBIVOID let me remind you that i am 17 so their is slightly a possibility that he is before my time.

    JUST SAYING

  • @meryemhallo1993xl I am sorry to say, that you have missed some greatness.... surely there are samples of his work around the internet here or there. Ed Bradley was **truly** the personification of a journalist. Amazing, its been 5 years and still, he is very much missed.

  • everyone will mis ed bradley

  • One of the great ones. He is sorely missed.

  • RIP Ed, you did just a wonderful job. Very impeccable work ethic and the power to draw people near to you. May you fly hight with the angels.

  • People who don't understand math or science become lawyers, journalists or work in daytime television. The death of a twinkie bus kid is no big deal.

  • Katie sounds like she's fighting back tears in this clip. I don't blame her!

  • That's why she gets picked for autotuning so much! XD

  • katie couric sounds like a robot... all monotone

  • An Icon. Much respected in the News industry. I gues you're not in the industry.

  • One of the best in the business

  • I send condolences to NBC station. Sorry for y'alls loss, and I mean that.

  • What time did CBS interrupt their programming to announce the death of Ed Bradley? And what show did CBS interrupt?

  • The Price is Right was on the air in the Eastern and Central Time Zones...this would have put the CBS News Special Report in the 11 A.M.-12 P.M. hour.

  • Did it got interrupted during commercial break? Or during the game?

  • Cut off the end of the Showcase, which is generally seen as a no-no among Price fans.

  • I checked the recap for TPIR for 11/9/06, and there was a double overbid in the showcase, so it really didn't matter

  • Actually, this aired at 12:25 PM on the east coast. 11:25 AM where I live (in Chicago) witch interrupted local news broadcasts for most stations on the east coast and the Midwest.

  • On my affiliate, that would have interrupted The Young and the Restless.

I live in the Champaign-Decatur-Springfield, Illinois TV market, and my local noon news comes on at 12 noon Central Time.

  • But wouldn't the local newscasters know that they got interrupted?

  • RIP

  • The guy was such a staple of 60 Minutes. I mean, it was like I thought he'd be doing the show for decades to come.

  • RIP Ed Bradly! You were an excellent reporter and you'll be greatly missed!

  • She looks visably moved.

  • Thats a real shame.....A magnificent reporter and brought alot of respect to black americans....a real decent human being. RIP

  • RIP Ed Bradley, one of the best fucking journalists ever!!!!!

  • That's sad. I didn't know that he had died. He was an excellent journalist, and seemed to be a great person. RIP Ed.

  • He was the best... *eyes watery*

  • RIP

  • one of the few newscasters that i really liked was ed.

  • ed bradley's bob dylan interview is memorable...it shows ed at his best and dylan at his most revealing.

  • btw Ed rocked.. one of the best.

  • I love Katie Couric... remember way back when she use to fill in for Gumbel on the Today Show.

  • As a journalist myself, Katie did a very good job breaking into programming and giving the information. She might have mentioned him as part of the "Family" but I think they way she took it as part of her "Family" in a whole. When you're a journalist you part of a family of thousands of people. Just because she was only at CBS for a few weeks DOES NOT mean she did not know him and was friends with him. You're usually friends with people of other stations and look out for them as well.

  • Catie hhow can u call ur self a member of there family you were there for like 3 weeks when he died no one likes you !

  • are you any better? i don't see you in front of millions on national television...

  • katie couric is terrible. get this female host out of here

  • what is the matter with a female host? people like you appall me

  • He was the best thing on the show. We miss you Ed.

  • I only watch 60 Minutes on occasion, but Ed Bradley was the man.

  • he was the best...THE BEST

  • I agree, an excellent reporter.

  • Oh dear Ed, how we all miss you, 60 MINUTES isn't the same without you.

  • He was the best

  • grammy award...i saw that guy at Jazzfest, it was a little muddy, a little dirty, and he always stood in line for the port-a-pottys, like the regualar man...crawfish bread and second line umbrellas... me and syd barret and james brown and ...oh nobody else matters....hugs....and out threesome with joan baez

  • by the tone of katie's voice you can tell she was crying earlier before she got on air. and her voice keeps on breaking as if she was to cry. R.I.P

  • and that says alot about her to i mean i know at that point she was there on the cbs news for prob about a month?? but im sure she is friends and was friends with ed or anyone from the news before she came to cbs for good

  • ED I'm a young African american male, from the depths of my heart, thank you for being a good role model!

God bless you! and rest in peace!

  • Good bye my dear darling Ed.we will miss you

  • Good by ED we loved you reports and we most certainly love you. You were an angel in disguise. See ya

  • i send light for you as you go your journey, this is your peace, you dear sweet man.

  • Good bye but never forgotten. 60 minute man.

  • Another Jazz-influential person gone...beyond that, he was a reporter with true heart. He will be missed.

  • good bye Ed

    Rest In Peace

  • I already miss him and his intelligence.

  • r.i.p ed we love you

  • He will be missed. Wonderful reporter.

  • RIP Ed Bradley
