  • Your video is a favorite on Kigali

  • @lexiskramer229a that's because it's a true work of art. Music that uplifts and video that enlightens.

  • When watching this, it truly feels like I"m transported back to the Golden Age of Greece; sitting at the feet of Apollo. Devoid of any jewish/capitalist desire to make a profit. God bless Leni Riefenstahl! Your works enoble us!

  • LENI THE BEST !

  • Wonderful BERLIN 1936....I love Leni Riefensthal !

  • Riefenstahl was a highly gifted artist who excelled in movies/photography. Her 1936 Olympic film is the stuff of legends. After the war, she paid dearly for her Nazi associations.

  • No semite could ever create such beautiful art. Jews can only imitate and then try to put a price tag on it. Art is a spiritual experience, but to a jew, it's something to sell.

  • @eric5906 For sure. What music do the elite Jewish scions of culture offer? Justin Bieber?

What kind of TV do they offer? Anti-social miscegenistic filth that is a form of of mental rape to any decent White person watching?

What cracks me up is apparently primetime's Jew writers are so devoid of originality they have been writing the same 3 TV scripts for decades: doctors, lawyers, and police.

Our culture has been hijacked & debased for so long, few even know there is anything better.

  • @RWT683 surely, you must be one of the lucky ,mentally virgin, few .

  • How magnificent could be the world, when everything still had to be discovered and when men still loved beauty only because it was naked beauty given naturally to their eyes...?

    We were so beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • This to me illustrates the fundamental difference between Aryan-European Art and Jewish "Art" I have ever seen.

The parasite nation of Judah cannot create art, it can only create filth.

  • @OFFENDOR you're mad!!!! ???

  • @OFFENDOR That would be quite the trick since the Nile is in Egypt not Morocco and what does that have to do with life in the anciet world?

  • fuck the slav grece egyptians grece long live illirians

  • aleksander ) pirro )the bllodi illirians

  • Leni Riefenstahl war eine geniale, erstaunliche Video.

  • Despite all the political bias found in this clip, i must admit this is a great masterpiece of the film making.

  • Los Juegos Olimpikos Fueron Creados Por La Eclipsada Civilisacion Ellena Antigua, Con Un propocito Determinado,..Unir a la Humanidad,..Para Apartarla de Tantos "Juegos" De Guerra Muerte y Destruccion...Ese Magno Mensaje,No Fue Comprendido,Por Las Siguentes Civilisaciones,Que Continuan Desarrollando,"Juegos" De Guerras de Megalo-Mikro escalas,.."juegos" Macabros Y Tenebrosos,En Que Parte De La Humanidad No Quere,O No Puede Liverarse. Esperemos Que La Antorcha Olimpica Siga Ardiendo Esperansa.

  • The Third Reich area was very bent on Roman and Greek art, Albert Speer thought it was a good idea to model the Reich on this style , because he wanted future generations to look back on this on this as the Italians and Mussolini did. Hitler often said "the trouble with Germany, is that we really have no past"! When the Greeks and Romans were at their zenith, we were still living in caves"

  • @Doug48794 sadly they came to invade greece.

  • @sekidaigoro Hitler was a crazy man!!! He decided on his own what was good art and what was degenerated!!! He only alowed the art that was according to his ideology! I was manipulation! The goal of art is not only to do something beautiful but also giving a message, even if it is against the government's politic!! I do admire grec and latin art! but it has nothing to do with thre nazi art that was disrespectful! And the goal of rap is also to invite people to think things over & criticize also!

  • @manonclaudia Hitler and his gang didn't define good and bad art because they were crazy. Just the opposite: it was a tactical measure in their overall strategy to manipulate German society. The Nazi higher-ups didn't think certain art genres were degenerate; they had no problems in private with owning such works and using them as currency.

  • @sekidaigoro Hitler created a paradise for artists? You've got to be kidding.

  • I love Leni Riefenstahl's films, they are absolutely fantastic and she was an outstanding artist.

If i said this in Germany in public, people would call me a Nazi-sympathizer, an anti-semite, and what not. hahaha i couldnt care less. I want to speak my mind.

  • @Elberiver11 Good for you, and keep thinking critically and independently. Just watch out for the Verfassungschutz.

  • @Elberiver11 No need to care of people, specially ready-lended-thought's ones. Real history is not done by them but imagine by some, and still, made by the few, finally interpreted by many. It means lot of voices for a proper knowldege of it.

  • She should be remembered for her Greatness, She was just simply Fantastic! You know that Adolph Hitler was the first woman liberator!!!!! throw that into the face of some of your liberal friends! and wait for an answer! Oh Boy do I hate communists!

  • @Doug48794 Does that include the lover he drove to commit suicide before he came to power? ;) And she was his cousin as well. ewwww

  • @Blain1971 Actually it was his neice, not his cousin.

  • @xexixk Oh, well, my mistake.....makes it all better. ;)

  • @Blain1971 Yes, I agree it adds an extra layer of creepiness. HIs other neice (sister of the one who comitted suicide) died in 1993. She never spoke to the media, which is understandable, but yet it would have been interesting to hear what she had to say or remembered.

  • @xexixk Yeah..last i heard there were some five members of the Hitler family alive today in the U.S., all living under the radar under different names. There was a show about Hitler made not too long ago, but they couldn't get any of them to speak on camera. Imagine growing up knowing you're related to one of, if not the, worst mass murderers in recorded human history.

  • @Blain1971 Yes, those are, if I remember correctly, some of the children of his nephew William Patrick Hitler (who enlisted in the US Navy during WW II). Hermann Goering had a brother who had immigrated to the US with his wife and his son Werner Goering (thus he was Hermann Goering's nephew) served in the US Air Force during WW II. Hitler was one of the worst mass murders true, but Stalin has a higher body count - but he concentrated on mostly killing his own citizens so not as well known.

  • @xexixk Don't forget Mao. It's possible that he killed more people than Hitler and Stalin put together.

  • @theoriginalbadbob True. I didn't think to mention Mao.

  • Il miglior video tra tutti con questo prologo a Olympia.

  • This is a little over the top. Also Hitler's ideals were vastly different from Alexander's, Alexander left most persian city states and tribes autonomy while Hitler was totalitarian, Hitler was also incompetent as a grand strategist.

  • Maybe another version warranted with Kraftwerk's "Showroom Dummies"?

  • Leni Riefenstahl is often criticized for glorifying in her films only the most beautiful and perfect people. Then they make the logical conclusion (whether true or not I will not give my opinion) that it was this artistic "take" on the human body that made her the perfect filmmaker for Hitler's Third Reich.

However, I will say that when one is commissioned to do a film on the Olympic games, isn't it rather hard to NOT show people who have perfect bodies???

  • No jew could ever conceive of such beauty and perfection. Praise the Gods!

  • @eric5906 : you twat

  • @eric5906 i admire riefenstahl, but you should really listen to some itzakh perlman--very moving...oh yeah, he's JEWISH

  • Beautiful video. Riefenstahl has nothing to be ashamed of. Germanic art is beauty and truth.

  • "art for art's sake"...Leni's clarion call. To be an artist is a higher calling and carries higher responsibilities. Gifted craftswoman that she was, genius, she forsook her responsibilities to humankind for her own selfish gratification and in the process helped to usher millions upon millions of humans to their doom. The greatest question is, "What could this amazing talent have accomplished had it not been lit by the flame of the Third Reich?"

  • we have forgotten what is the purity of intellegence , the purity of art , beauty and health ... Christians destroyed it ....

  • @MrAndersohn Wow. I didn't know that....wonder how I managed to become a Christian and an artist.......hmmm. And its funny how some of the greatest artists down through the centuries were "christians".

  • Dies ist die Geschichte,Leni Konigin. Serbe

  • To those who commented on ancient greeks being barbarians... I don't think old greeks left poor people lying on the streets to die of starvation and hypothermia like we do nowadays. At least they were slaves. Nazis sent people who were judged as not fit for working to a quick death in a gas chamber. Nowadays the unemployed are abandoned for a slow death on the streets. We are the barbarians; worse than old greeks, even worse than the nazis.

  • @agormanvideos ancients greeks threw imperfect babies over cliffs

  • @philipsmog You are an absolute MORON - an AMOEBA in human form and sadly just another pathetic, mindless, ignorant robot of the PC era which is destroying all truth and reality!! Go hide under a rock somewhere - you are embarrassing yourself and do not belong anywhere near conversations or debates on this level. You are in no position whatsoever to judge - considering you do not have one thought,,,,of your own!!!!!

    FOOL!!!

  • @philipsmog Umm life was pretty miserable anwhere in the ancient world by today's standards

  • brilliant! Pure German Genius.

  • Does anyone know where i can find Historian Quotes on Leni Riefenstahl? Please i really need them!! Primary sources ONLY, anything like memoirs, quotes PLZ! But not HER OWN quotes but Historian Quotes about her, giving their opinion. Please link me, thanks.

  • The Christians destroyed this great civilization, they swept the whole culture.

  • @octopusmagnificens Man...and all this time I was thinking it was Imperial Rome that was to blame. You know, that big world power that absorbed every country it came across, long before christianity. But everyone needs a scapegoat I guess. Easier to blame the worlds problems on a group rather than looking for any truth....much easier.

  • Context aside, this is beauty incarnate. Perfect match between Vangelis and the film.

I came to this via Instapunk, who asks, "Are you as noble as this? Do you dare to be perfect? To teach everyone else how to be perfect? Kewl."

The Old Greeks ginned this up out of nothing, folks, out of rocks and dust and shadows.

The Nazis, the Soviets, the Red Chinese, now the medieval Jihadists, dared to claim that nobility, to claim the rest of us inferior.

    How noble are you?

  • @50srefugee I agree on beauty (both the video and Vangelis' music). But I cannot escape thinking how it was relatively easy for the Old Greeks to ponder on beauty, freedom and all the other wonderful virtues when it was beyond question for them that some people (about 90% of the rest) were naturally born slaves. So if someone is hypocritical in your list, then the Greeks are not an exception; maybe just a little less aware of it.

  • @gitaclick: "if someone is hypocritical in your list, then the Greeks are not an exception"

The Greeks were, by our modern standards, barely better than savages. That's the beauty of their achievement: not that they were pure or lacked hypocrisy, but that, ignorant as they were, they created much beauty, and laid the foundation for so much that came after.

The ones on my list, on the other hand, have no such excuse, and they mostly destroyed rather than built.

  • @50srefugee Could you kindly describe the ways in which they were barely better than savages? That would place most of today's humanity into the category of savages.

  • Doggone it, my first response to this seems to be lost. I apologize if it's a double post.

@Nonpeasant: "the ways in which [the Greeks] were barely better than savages?"

Please note the "by our modern standards," that is, knowing all the things we do now; and that I'm referring to their starting point, not where they ended up.

My point is the huge progress they made starting almost from scratch in a startlingly short time, an achievement rarely, if ever, equaled,

  • @Nonpeasant if you are European or of European descent just take a good look at your language and count the ancient Greek words by the thousands, it is just one of the propositions and perhaps you will find when and by whom Europe was first spoken of as a single entity.

  • this is art.....

  • OLYMPIA - Oh immortal spirit of antiquity!

    watch?v=v8kW1SgDevI

  • @sekidaigoro Athena-Amaterasu , Heracles-Shukongoshin , Nippon - Upper Ionia , Yonaguni......

  • @sekidaigoro you are kidding, right?

Nazism is the full opposite of Hellenism(the classical one), despite the fact that Nazis in order to prove the superiority of their german race portrayed themselves inheritors and owners of the hellenic tradition to fill the...missing pages of the ..Race... while real German ancestors were in relatively savage cultural level in contrast to the mediterranean world, and Greece foremost.

The image of the fur wearing Germans of BC didn't fit the nazi ideals..

  • Its disgusting when the epitome of barbarism, the Nazism, tries to arrogate the majesty of Hellenism.

Hellenism is an ideal and civilization that needs to be communed only by people with grace-areti, moderation and humanism, not racism, idiocy and siegheils...

  • @sekidaigoro How can someone admire Greek culture along with Nazi??? Thats oxymoron.

  • The Prolog was completely created by Willy Zielke, not Riefenstahl.

As thanks the day after it was completed and Zielke had returned to Munich, Riefenstahl got him locked up in a mental hospital for 'schizophrenia' (there had been no previous indication of this). He was also castrated.

Riefenstahl got the complete credit for the film.

  • @jomellon and the complete punishment aswell, I suppose. (?)

  • Two words: goose bumps. So clean, so genial.

  • go my greece go........for new glory days......

  • golden

  • COLDEN GREECE

  • Unique Hellas, unique Vangelis,unique music !

  • @SeeProfileForDetails

so go back listen your nigger music.

  • *totally unrelated to the Berlin Games*

They should totally bring back the "only wearing a loin cloth" for men in the Olympics. I realize they were completely nude in Athens but whoo! haha!

But yes Leni Riefenstahl was way ahead of the times. This was the first Olympic games that severed to showcase the city in an extremely positive light. In fact many Olympic traditions were founded by Nazi Germany. *gasp*

  • why would you want your penis flinging around and your butt being shown to perverts?

  • Christians are too, what's your point?

  • @SeeProfileForDetails

no I wanted to say ...Jews are creating all the PUBLIC CLOUDS about gays..using them for political reasons...Gays hate it...I know some..

no PRIDE parade...we should keep our sexuality home...not on the streets

  • @musiclover1958:

I sense much ENVY in your remark... It must be because you live in a country with 400 years of history while Greeks live in a country with 4500 years of history.

When they were setting the bases of knowledge and of reasoning, you were sleeping in caves and trees with your monkey brothers.

  • @shockolanu If I think what you think by 'monkey brothers', than I think you speak about the wrong continent

  • Leni Riefenstahl was way ahead of the curve. Truimph of the will is still way ahead of it's time and many historians confirm this.

Not all things made by The Third Reich are gay. You really need to stop" the Hitler is gay remarks" as you clearly have gay issues yourself.

  • @steveh1764 If she was Jewish, they would probably find the way to forgive her...and use her true talent somewhere on the West Coast..

  • @musiclover1958

this is called European Aryan art dirty jewish insect, don't insult our race and go back to your modern hip-hop nigger music and leave European master race alone.

  • los primeros 4 minutos son de flojera toral

  • Htler was gay.

  • long live Greece

  • what song comes after the titans song?

  • The idea of associating this film Leni Riefenstahl with the music of Vangelis is... GENIAL! Regards.... ;-)

  • Appreciate the Hellenistic culture. But I'm not sure that nudity wasn't considered objectionable before. Can you tell me that it is not obscene?

Btw, Vangelis' music is beautiful and astonishing.

  • not for the greeks

  • This is a very thought provoking comment from the following:

It speaks generally of the Anglo preoccupation that images of man (woman) must some how be obscene if it shows the beauty of our frames without clothing.

That if a breast, pecs, buttox, loin cloth, or for that matter a penis or mons veneris are shown, therefore it must be obscene.

  • @TheAmpNerd

That is how the ancient Hellenes trained and participated in the Olympic Games,

...so this is simply showing it authentically.

Obscenity depends on the contents of the video and the context of nakedness.

I have seen more obscenity in a modern music video...!!!

  • I understand and agree that I also have seen more obscenity on TV.

  • That "anglo preoccupation" is in some way charateristic of the protestant lack of aesthetic taste.

Therefore this video is a clear demonstration of the enormous distance that occourred between a Bible-centered mentality (Anglo preoccupation) and the nationalsocialistic one.

  • In case you got lost, my original response was for

antimatterXXXIII and then you got in the way apparently without informing yourself of the whole conversation and how it developed.

    1. antimatterXXXIII pointed the blame of nazi atrocieties on Leny, based on the fact that she knew Hitler. Winston Churchill and FDR knew him too, so what was his point?

    2. I corrected him that USA and rest of the European powers didn't care about Nazi mass murdering.

    3. You stepped in and sided on anti-german.

  • Go Lenny.

  • Καταπληκτικό video!

Κρίμα που εμείς οι Έλληνες δεν είμαστε άξιοι να αναδείξουμε την πολύτιμη κληρονομιά μας.

  • Avesome.. Thank you!

    Regards. K

  • Excellent comment. I totally agree.

  • 2:36 is how my hair is looking like right now. haha, d(:

  • 2:36, my hair is exactly the same right now.

  • stunning cinematography, and your paring with the music is beautiful. Riefenstahl was a groundbreaking and very influential director.

  • I am not Jewish, but I could not help thinking of some poor, humble shopkeeper on the morning after Kristallnacht, wondering where to go and what to do. Images of perfection do nothing for me it seems - my heart is with the little people. There were 11 million fewer little people 9 years after this film was made. Their corpses were not beautiful. Their nakedness went uncelebrated.

  • @antimatterXXXIII F*ck you...

  • Still blaming movie filmmakers for the Kristallnacht and every other Nazi atrocity?

Why don't you get over it, and shoot all German people that comes across you? Since your "heart" is there, you won't be able to live until your extract your pound of flesh.

Besides, USA itself didn't care about "nazi atrocities" until 3 years later.

Eugencis (scientific racism) was the vogue AND the de facto legal policy in USA, France and the UK. All three have their share of blame for letting Hitler loose.

  • i feel sorry for the japanes in hiroshima to

  • I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU TOO.AND AMERICA

  • A genius, but an evil one, for whom truth was whatever one wished it to be. One wonders if her long life was sufficient punishment, and how often she thought of the days in the late 30s when she witnessed the murder of Polish Jews, forced to dig their own graves, then shot. This film is a paean to narcissism - Hitler was the patron saint of narcissists everywhere, and Riefenstahl was his agent.

  • @antimatterXXXIII You said you weren't Jewish!? Why do you sound like one then?

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1930s cinematography well ahead of its time - as an artist Riefenstahl very underestimated and her ties to the Reich however are secondary to her primary cause her work, her art as with most artists.

  • @MrDoublehappy I totally agree, Art is Art

  • @discodancer69 ... She is one of those little known secrets of cinema. How could this not capture the imagination of anyone at a time when such a piece would have been extremely rare, perhaps unheard of? We take it for granted today, but the woman really left everyone else in film, in the dust. Sad that as a woman she should be relegated to the attic of cinema history. It is inevitable however, that conscience will one day strike the heart of film artists to accord her, her dues.

  • The Acropolis prior to that awful Greek restoration!

  • This is beautiful stuff...

  • Ironic that one of the most influential people in the history of cinema would also be one of the most controversial...

  • due palle!

  • Especially the first scenes from the Ruins of the Acropolis fatally foresee the destiny of the German Empire.

Yes there is truly a comparing link from'ancient Greece to'modern Germany because it was the most influential power in Europe at this time.

What intention has the hollywood-style cinematography?

It also shall reflect the American way of life, influencing the whole world.

Thus it is also a part of the global strategy to fool the people around the'world with mostly unrealistic movies.

  • for me this is an effort to establish a link from ancient greek civilization as THE most influential power of that time to a third Reich, that pretends to be just like that. Civilized. To say, that Olympia and Triumph des Willens created new ways of cinematography is right, but for what intention? doesn't that matter? this film is an essential part of fascist's strategy to fool the world with their olympic games 1936. this can't be just about the pictures, but what they want to say.

  • Hi Dear , your thinking is my history , I can understand what you write ,

The german artist emigrated or they could´nt . But they wanted to work , and they ´ve done it very well . Please understand a living under a repressiv Regime . And the USA used the Nazi - Scientist like Wherner von Braun etc, ,

  • Yeah, but quite frankly I don't think the language of these pictures is caused solely by the pressure of the regime, that's what I'm saying. And when you mention von Braun, I think it is obvious that these two figures have much in common: Both tried to use their important role (von Braun in both Germany and the US) to achieve their very own goals, but that doesn't make them less controversial, regardless of others. Both of them (especially von Braun, a lot of killed people because of him)!

  • right, but remember: Leni was the Hitler's woman before Eva Braun... she didn't wants emigrate!

  • @vivipiuomeno

Prove it. With quoted material, please.

Or should we take your personal statement as fact?

P.S. No cursing, uppercased or exclamative responses allowed. Won't make you look better nor prove your point.

  • please, I don't see your quoted material?

Or shoud we take your personal statement as fact?

    What's "the point" ? Wher's the problem?

Try to look for Leni interwiews, before to speak ....

  • Great stuff !!! Regards.

  • LONG LIVE ANCIENT GREEK SPIRIT

  • LONG LIVE GREEK SPIRIT

  • I don't understand why the polliticalyy correct what i hate this film, when it is full of wisdom, and great shots!

  • In reaction to the comment of Blain1971: go to this gallery: ho pais kalos ('google' it). Those pics will give you some insights. :-)

For ceira7: in gleichem schritt ('google' it).

  • She was in the ultimate search for beauty. Riefenstahl is unfairly brandished as a nazi sympathiser, which may be true, but regardless she is still one of the most influencial filmmakers of all time and one of the greatest female directors, don't look at Olympia and Triumph of the will as just simple propaganda films, there is so much to admire on a techincal basis. BTW I am not a nazi or a nazi sympathiser, just a film fan.

  • To be honest, the whole thing's a bit pompous isn't it? Nice cinematography but phenomenally self-regarding.The irony is all the Nazi leadership were a bunch of mis-shapen potato-heads, not blond adonises.Himmler? Vot a minger!

  • I like how people are always commenting on the naked athletes, so heres a question.

Shouldn't a female director have as much right to put naked men in her films as male directors have to put naked women in their movies?

What's the big mystery as to why she did it? Its the human sex drive pure and simple.

  • what happened to the original music!?

  • ask the french government

  • god bless Hellas

  • Nazism is like the roman empire.

They tried (like the romans) to ressucitate greek culture.

Well with Nazism its more like resurrecting old pre christian germanic europe.

  • Weise Worte....

  • I love the music you choose to go with the video Perfect!

  • Who is in 4:46?

  • Venus ?

  • Selene ?

  • Yes,Leni sexed it up with tribesmen!

    Heinz Rohm

  • I love them both. Legends. The hight of human culture. The white culture.

  • Leni Riefenstahl AND Vangelis? I love you, man...

  • I feel the same as you do. Well said.

  • A stunning sequence - cinematography at its best, as alive today as it was 70 years ago.........

  • Beautiful men! That's all I can say!

    Heinz Rohm

  • Years later, Riefenstahl made a documentary about a Sudanese tribe. One characterised, to judge by the movie, by tall muscular men. Her erotic enthusiasm for these athletic looking tribesmen is all too obvious. Hitler also shared Leni's enthusiasm for tall athletic men.

  • What could Leni Riefenstahl have become had she not been forever tainted by Hitler? But perhaps such a compromise on her part reveals a flaw in her character that would have tainted any future for her.

  • Without Hitler, there is no Riefenstahl. She tried to demonstrate nazi idealism.

  • Nazi ideals which are in fact an attempt at re-creating the ancien greek ideals, like in the book of Plato "The Republic".

  • what could the Reich have become? a world of truth and no corruption nor economic problems..

  • lol

    no corruption????

The "führer-prinzip" supports corruption and ass-licking.

    truth?

The people were told lies,i.e. that the money for the poor collected was used for weapons....

  • Corruption is a mark of any human government, imperfect people create imperfect governments. Its just the way it is.

  • fascim? :/

  • how so?

  • If it was commissioned for the 1936 Olympics and didn't come out until '38, I would say she was a tad on the late side. :)

  • my favorite video of 2009
