I own only two of his CDs, the Mysterious Production of Eggs and Armchair Apocrypha, and I agree with you; Armchair Arachnophobia is definitely my favourite.

I still listen to both of them over and over again as if there were no tomorrow.

Yeah, basically every artist does that live. Not necessarily for every performance, but most of the time. A lot of the cookie cutter bands don't cause they're extremely commercial. They produce music for money.
