  • It's a microburst. Most morons don't understand the difference or they try to sensationalize it by posting it as a tornado on youtube but sorry,it wasn't a tornado. These are called micro and macrobursts or downdrafts. They fall down from 50K feet up and when they hit the ground they spread out in all directions and it loos like horizontal straightlines and then they end quickly.Tornadoes swirl and would have busted your windows out.

  • Thats one way to wash off all that pigeon shit from a building

  • Is it true you need a credit score of 700 to be eligible on the list for coopcity apartments? I just don't buy this "requirement" of theirs. Sorry if off topic. Yes tornado looks "wicked". Thanks for the video.

  • @yingdiskette i dont remember i moved in so long ago ...i know they made it harder to move in but if you know some one you can get in

  • No tornados hiit tthe bronx

  • r u 4 reakl

  • i was at the Yankees game when this happened lol everybody was going crazy haha

  • haha i waz outside runnin around

  • From this footage this was a supercell thunderstorm and there had to be a tornado within this storm that wind was awesome i'm just amazed at the fact that none of those trees fell. What is in its soil cement ? : )

  • damn, no wonder my flight to new york was cancelled that day!

  • awesome footage

  • NY lol!!!!! everything in USA is inside job!!!! learn about the HARP project!!!

  • Like the buildings in Grand Theft Auto 4...

  • I remember watching your video a few months ago when this happened. Today I share with you Queens' tornado from a highrise vantage point. NYC is getting hammered this year with tornados. Check it out......

  • this was true a tornado did touch down there that day,I remember it,I dont live in NYC though

  • as they used to say on channel 2 - "because anything can happen in new york!"

  • is it dangerous there?

  • Where you live is beautiful!

  • that day a table flew past my terrece

  • No. I use to work in Bldg 32 and I do live in Sec.5

  • I was in BJ's at the time.

  • This Video looks like it was taken from Building 32. I can see the sec.5 shopping center.

  • @Onondaga3 you are right ....

  • @Onondaga3 great thank you ... do you live in 32 ?

I use to live on sec. 5 I think building 34. the Chevron right on HRP.

We were on the 4th. fl. right in the middle, had the river view in the livingroom,HRP view in the bedroom. Beautiful sunrises and sun sets.

This was when the sec. first opened many many moons ago.

It was nice,I had fun living there.

    New,clean,and safe.

  • Great shot , i Think i saw your vid on News12, i Hope you like my Video

  • wow...beautiful

  • I live there too! I have a video up about it as well! Cool we live in the same place.

  • Looks more like a Microburst than a tornado.

  • mad trees fell down. i live around there as well.

  • @YT102008 "Afraid of the Truth" - over discussions of whether a video is of a tornado or not ? Yes i understand now, we must keep this quiet because this could be a threat to national security.

  • @YT102008 They not going to report every single rotation when a city is broadsided by massive storms. This was probably an EF0 rainwrapped weak tornado by the video posted. Hey I resent you criticising my buddy's like you did in the prior post. Leave them out of the discussion. (just kidding)

  • That really suck for you guys in the city no lower ground! : ( besides the subway

  • Totally a tornado...just very rain wrapped.

  • @omgthisiscrazy1 No it's a 100 mph tornadoe

  • @sovietkazakh: Yes, that's what the weather agencies are reporting, a 100 mph tornado. But the tornado did not hit this complex.

  • @IX19UT8O Down at Co-Op City Blvd right on the side on the Hutching River there were several fallen trees.

  • @NY1054Cool It may have been an F-1 but no higher. Check out sections 4 to 2 on Co Op City Blvd right on the Hutchingson River to see several trees down.

  • @NY1054Cool: I'm not questioning the weather report of an F1 tornado hitting the bronx, I'm questioning this video purporting to showing a tornado. If you know what tornados are like then you would know that a tornado may hit one area but leave another completely alone. If an F1 tornado hit this complex there would be a whole lot of damage, the bus would not be running, and PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE WALKING IN IT.

  • @IX19UT8O I think it was an F-1 at most. I will have to look up to see what damage an F-1 does. I made mention only of co op city and no other place. I already knew of One in Riverdale. Maybe you may be confusing damages caused by an F-2 or more with than of an F-1. I did find what happend very unusual no matter what it was.

  • @NY1054Cool: An F1 tornado may carry winds from 73-112 mph, the lower limit is the beginning of hurricane winds. The weather agencies are reporting winds of 100 mph, possible tornado territory if accompanied by a clearly defined funnel. The damage an F1 can caused: peels surface off roofs; mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned; moving autos pushed off the roads; and certainly people would not be walking in it. Again, I'm not questioning the weather reports, only this video.

  • @dutchtrainmanserie22 EF1 confirmed by NWS. There is minor rotation and debris in the video. See my comments below to IXI9ut80. People are not spoiled with all the tornado video's on youtube and seem inclined to dismiss minor rotation's/tornado's as downbursts or straightline winds. This was a rain-wrapped weak tornado.

  • @IX19UT8O You got it wrong this time. NWS confirmed EF1 tornado. There was some rotation in this video and even a little debris. People are now so used to watching EF3 - EF5 videos on youtube and now try to dimiss small tornado's as downbursts.

  • @GOODY61: If you have been in a tornado then you would know what it is like. An EF1 tornado carries winds of 100 MPH. You will not only see the funnel, you will also hear it like a loud roar coming at you. I see no tornado damage in this video. Call it what you like but a tornado this is certainly not. We have small tornados all the time and it is nothing like this stuff. Fortunately it does little damage but an F1 is different.

  • @IX19UT8O Funnels are not always discernable even for EF3 or greater. EF1 would not destroy large buildings such as this. Might blow out a few windows. This video does not have enought steady camera work to determine how much damage was on the ground. The roar depends on the tornado size and how the surrounding terrain effects the acoustics. I have been near or in the rotation of 2 or 3 rotations of several small tornados and I believe there are parts of this video which show slight rotation.

  • @GOODY61 Co-Op City was not in the path of the confirmed tornado. That was further west, in Riverdale.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft: Yes, yes, yes. That's what I have been saying. The tornado hit somewhere else not where this video is purporting.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft I think there is still tornadic rotation in this video. There could of been several places experiencing rotation but the area which received the most damage is where the official designation was made.

  • That was sweet !! =)

  • @dutchtrainmanserie22 NOAA weather scientists officially confirmed this as an EF-1 tornado. What you see here is irrelevant. The aftermath spoke for itself.

  • weird

  • This was part of a cell that did produce a tornado at the Western Edge of the Boro in Riverdale. By the time moved and reached PelhamBay,Co-Op and City Island there was no longer a Tornado but some crazy winds... Good Job by the way.. I got some footage from the other way from Asch Loop. but got it late. to the end.

  • Awesome Video!!!

  • @ejantos thanks
