@Elune137 Well, usually. Hopefully, anyway. If your primers and polymerases are good, and if the DNA you wanted to replicate in the first place isn't too degraded. Otherwise, you get...nothing.

@MadDragonify You can do PCR with small samples, but there's a limit to how small the sample can be. (It also depends on the kind of equipment you use.) And by degraded, I don't necessarily mean mutated. I mean that over time DNA kind of...falls apart, for lack of a better term. (My professor and I had some problems with that during a research project we worked on last semester...it was very frustrating.)
