  • Hey they are no longer on your site! Where can i get em?

  • This is the GOD of all analog sound . u cant compare it to anything .

  • You guys think this synth is cool for making music similar to deadmau5?

  • all these tinlky sounds are ok I guess, but please, where are those deep, thick Oberheim sounding pads and stuff?

  • @jeshuaew definitely , im starting to think that within about 12 months ill have a decent grasp on the a6 hehe

  • Ive played this synth. It's a very awkward synth if I compare it to others, but it still has it's own fibe. That's just nice :D

  • @jeshuaew ebay - I got one in mint condition , no problems so far with it

  • I ended up recently buying an Andromeda A6 (in mint shape) - but had a hard time choosing between this and the A6.

Hrmmm might just have to get one of these too now I love the way this synth sounds also

  • @TheZombieHolocaust dude i have both, if you need any advice just let me know

  • in fact compare digital synth to analog synth is same to compare CD to analog tape ^^ the taste is purely different.

  • no no reason is a shit to produce vitual analog synth even if thor is good, but for making digital synth and chip tune 8 bit sound it's fit very well, but a real analog is far better than any fucking soft synth like vst or other.

my next step it's to buy one of those monster like Moog Litle Phatty for huge bass and prophet DSI 08 for the massive string effect i need, by the way Kong for drum and redrum is realy operate to kick ass, if i just ad a litle bit of hardware compressor.

  • what a terrible demonstration, i have one and this serves no justice whatsoever

  • 2:30

    Earthbound?

  • This or Alesis Andromeda?

  • @tonato17

This one. Though you might run into the 4-voice trap when playing live. If you are using more then 4 fingers ath the same time and this will be your ONLY synth and you don't multitrack live, an Andromeda might be better. DSI have superb support, btw, should something go wrong.

Anyway, my PEK lives right below my Virus, and scares the crap out of the virus ;)

  • @tonato17 I would def go with this, but if you have the money go for the andromeda! The latter is a crazy synth, but the evolver can be bought for 500 dollars and is simply insane for that money!

  • @tonato17 Andromeda no question.. Andromeda is in most mays top of the pops.. still after so many years

  • 2:11

    d^_^b

  • almost same presets as the desktop model.

  • 2:13 Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams

  • At the end you have to eq/compress the sound so you lose much quality/harmonics...thank Lord for the softsynths!

My Arturia Moog can do everything what this baby does. :-)

  • This thing sounds really harsh & cheap.

  • @stealthgear i wish there were more comments like these so that people would think twice of buying them. So that dsi eventually brings down the price so that i can buy another rack. Harsh yes it can do that easily thats the analog nature. cheap? hardly. mind you, you're listening to it through yOUTUBE.. i owned a mono desktop version before and i was blown away.. .which ultimately lead to poly.

  • @motaki79 I own one now. I like it a lot for what it does. The presets still sound terrible to me. I'm programming it all myself. Its not refined enough to replace a Roland, but its the best for funky bass, leads, and cool digital sounds.

  • I MUST have this synth!!!! how much does it cost??

  • @Ahiachebel about 2 grand, i think.

  • Reason sounds like shit...wrong, not as good as the real thing of course, but that's not why alot of people use reason. It kicks as on so many other levels. Reason one, drum programing and ease of use... work flow.

  • can you do a demo with the sounds you skipped over with some actual music, not just the gimmicky sequencer presets?

  • @Bluplirst title reads 'PRESETS', you swear this is the only demo out there.

  • @motaki79 What I meant is I wish the demo included playing the other sounds and not just the preset sequences. This is the only hifi sounding demo of the PEK, it just doesn't display what the synth is cabable of musically.

  • I purchased a moog voyager for bass. Its either this or the Prophet 8 next.

  • prophet 8. will allow you to do more imo.

  • @djomercohen who told you this? Its a fact that this can do a shit load more

  • @djomercohen this is not true. i own both. you need to hear and experience this in person. the evolver is truly a lot better than the prophet, mainly because of its hybrid nature. I can respect peoples opinion, but some of you don't even know what you're talking about. 'my arturia moog can do everything what this baby does" . wow.. speechless. lol

  • Your final sound quality is going to come down to eq/mixing of the track. Of course digital plugins won't sound as good and become more difficult to mix, but you can get good sounds out of either analog or digital if you know how to program it. Real keyboards are much more fun to play with anyways.

  • 2.30 Terminator???

  • Mind-blowing sound! And these are only the presets... What a beast this synth is!

  • Some of these patches remind me of sound effects from old Dr. Who shows.

  • Esoteric Music.

  • I own Reason and been using it for 7 years. I like the redrum, arpeggiator, mastering, reverb, matrix seq, and maybe Thor, but the Subtractor and Maelstrom sound like garbage. My Juno106 kicks Reason's whimpering ass into the corner on the bass. Thor is better, but Reason better improve its synth sounds, and stop dicking with its god awful sequencer, or Ableton will run it out of business. I know it doesnt seem like a huge difference, but you can tell when you have real analog BIGTIME.

  • these presets cannot show the strenght of this synth, anyway I just ordered one but these factory "sequencer

     presets' are useless shit.

  • i compared this with reason thor and reason sounds like shit!

  • as one would expect

  • Could you please explain why Reason sounds shit compared to this? I know Reason is far from perfect but I think you could manage this stuff with a couple of subtractors. It's nothing special.

  • real electric circuitry sounds more warm than digital emulation...... its like the difference between a cgi picture and a real life picture

  • That is a good analogy, and I'm sure analog is potentially better sounding than Reason depending on how you program it - but honestly I think Reason could handle these sounds without much difficulty.

  • True, but like Dave Smiths says: You have to listen to the sound isolated to hear the difference. In a compilation with other sound you cannot hear the difference.

  • That may be true for most people but a pair of trained ears can easily pick out the analog and digital synth parts in a mix.

  • You never played around with a real synth, I know. There is not comparison, reason is like a volvo and this beast is a V12 BMW.... dont compare that....

  • reason sounds like shit in general. its way outdated even compared to other software, let alone this beast.

  • I'm not an expert so I'll defo give you the benefit of the doubt here, but it seems a bit harsh to say Reason sounds shit. I admit the synths are lacking in some areas but it could defo handle the examples on this tutorial.

  • @lavakava

I don't think so. If you layer your sounds correctly and add the right effects / compression etc. it surely can sound as big as a hardware synth.

  • @lavakava reason is shit :D

  • Wicked synth!!!

  • 2:12 is awesome

  • who am i to disagree?

  • sweet dreams are made of these.... who am i to disagree?

  • sounds great
