He himself said that he would mock up lyrics for songs in five or so minutes with zero thought put into them just because, well he felt songs needed lyrics. It's very similar to Beck's lyrical style in some songs on Mellow Gold.

Do yourself a favor tho, quit trying to make magic out of dust, aka making sense from nonsense. Most of Kurt's lyrics were just supposed to sound "edgy" even if some (few) songs had some premise and prose.
