Sitting on the far left end - must be the young Andy .... Tomorrow, DEc. 22, 2011- I'd like to greet Robin, a very happy B-day!!!. The world was given a beautiful gift when HE created you ...We love you. You're in my prayers, Robin.... , with love from Philippines...
@ardentepatience "you'll always be the one the only one my heart will ever know", never heard that in my life and never will, it's too late. I'm sorry, that's really sad, but it's never too late.
There will never be another group as good as the Bee Gees. They achieved so much more than most other bands, and they hadn't even left school by that time!
cumberland67, Barry uses "open D" tuning. Maurice used standard tuning, which produced a very nice effect when they both played rhythm guitar on a song. This can be heard on the One night only "Alone".
The host is Desmond Tester who compered several children's shows on afternoon/after school TV in Sydney in the late 1950s and very early 1960s. Desmond mentions that they--the BeeGees--came down from Brisbane. Barry must have just started learning guitar as he is not playing standard chord positioning. It's tuned so that the one chord is all open strings. This is a serious time warp to the past. Nice post, thanks.
I didn't know about the BGs, I can't get enough of watching footage from when they were little. So Cute. They're snapping isn't in rhythm, but you can't say anything bad about those little voices.
Interesting footage. They were still kids here, and this predates their first single by three years. The earliest video footage of the Beatles dates from 1962, yet they became famous before the Bee Gees did!
@maxpowers518 early 62 was the first beatles footage...i always wondered why they didnt get any film footage from early hamburg considering they played up to 18hrs sometimes. thank goodness for astrid taking all those photos or we might not have seen them either
That was such a sweet song that Barry wrote! He looks to be a teenager.
Barry, you and your brothers with always be in my heart.

Amazing old stuff. Barry's voice was still changing. Maurice was such a little cutie who can't seem to stay quite as focused as Robin.
