So much potential, but just like most English players, never going to fulfill that potential. Goal-scoring record for a striker at a pretty big EPL club is crap. He's what, 25 now? He should be at his absolute peak now (as should Rooney) but neither are. I don't think any England player in my lifetime has ever fulfilled their potential. Wilshere appears to be doing so atm, but we'll see... This is why England flop at every WC (amongst other reasons of course, as well). *Sighs*

My strategy by having the front four be total speed guys, you can beat teams on the counter. If anyone is going to hold the ball it will be gerrard, lampard, and eventually wilshere and Rodwell. I dont love the idea of putting a lefty on the left side, as this will not be a crossing formation. If anyone is going to send the ball in the air into the box it will be the fullbacks.
