  • I hear all families are dysfunctional. But WHAT authority decreed that??

  • Well, Vicki certainly took every opportunity to make this episode focus directly on her, didn't she? This is one talk show episode where I can honestly say that, by the time I was done watching this, I still felt like I knew absolutely nothing about the guests. Vicki did more talking by herself than all four of her guests did combined. Starting at 6:45, she spent nearly 2 and a half minutes babbling on and on while her guests sat there like logs. And Beverly Archer got a raw deal for sure.

  • @leahar79 Absolutely! I 100% agree with you! The rest of the cast seem like a close-knit group, but I got the impression that Vicki thought she was "too good" to hang out with the lowly "co-stars," especially when Beverly brought up that Vicki had never accepted an invitation to come to her house for dinner like the rest of the cast had.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

  • my great gramdmother name was iola willson

  • What year did this air? I forgot.

  • Alan, you are wearing a double breasted jacket...button it!

  • Wow. Dorothy Lyman, circa those years, was the definition of a working actor who loved their job. Right on, lady. Right on.

  • I was so in love with Dorothy Lyman back in the day....she produced a lot of the episodes of the Nanny, too....FYI

  • 5:35 Look how Vicki shot DAGGERS out of her eyes at Beverly for adding her input to the whole "Bubba" character. Was poor Bev not allowed to talk or even BREATHE on her show?? I have to agree with the other comments on this . . . Vicki was VERY rude to Beverly on this show. If she's this rude to her on-camera, how rude was she to her OFF camera??

  • Love this show til this day. I wish it would come back.

  • Dorothy Lyman looks fantastic!

  • Beverly Archer is sexy and she has great legs.

  • @sweiland75 I've always thought Beverly was a beautiful lady, too. She seriously should have been a model!!!

  • So people don't know Vicki is Mama

  • Thelema reminds me of Medea

  • @Pinkranger87...I'm sure this is probably where the Madea idea came from. They are way too similar.

    Stay safe...

  • @HusbandandWifeShow Medea carries a gun, Thelma doesn't. She's more deadly than Thelma.

  • @vocalguru10...Thelma's mouth fires real bullets...Madea carries blanks. Thelma beats Madea in every imaginable way...hands down. Not a fan of Tyler Perry. Team Momma's Familyi!!

    Stay safe...

  • @Pinkranger87 Goodness, what would happen if Thelma and Medea met???!!! THE POSSIBLITIES!!!! XD

  • Allan Kayser was totally hot - i agree with pasadena1994.

  • naomi looks bad

  • wish they'd all come back again....loved watching the show. it was like a magical cartoon world...tho dysfunctional, it always felt good to visit there.

amazing how well the re-runs still hold up...

    bring 'em back!

  • Where is the rest of the cast ? Has people forgot Mama aka Thelma Harper had 2 other Grand kids Buzz and Sonja.

  • Man, The lady who played Iola, had a killer pair of legs!!

  • This is Before Hannah Montana.

  • Mama's Family is one of my favorite shows Im 15 so I use to watch reruns of Mama and the Golden Girls with my grandma so its great to be able to find a few episodes of Mama to watch to remind me of my grandma. R.I.P grandma. BRING BACK MAMA! reruns of course.

  • Iola has legs!!!!

  • Actually I had a crush on Ken Berry since I was a kid and he was in F-Troop.

  • Loved Mama's Family.....thanks for the memories, and for posting.

  • I will Always miss this show ....I was born 1980 and comming up this and the Carol Bernet show was my fravorite Ms Vicki & Ms Carol are my idols More likely my Grandmother God Bless You All & Thank you for the precouse Memories

  • mmmmmm bubba. n wow did iola have gams!

  • I remember this reunion! Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • mamas family needs to come back!!

  • @highlyaroused83 I couldnt agree with you more

  • As much as I loved watching Mama's family, they kind of made a mistake when they created the special Vicki was referring to "Eunice" which aired on CBS in January of 1982. It was in fact about Mama passing away. It really wasn't in my opinion a very funny show, it was kind of sad in a way. Then a year or so later they created Mama's Family, kind of confusing, Carol Burnett and Harvey Corman made a few appearances early one, it still was a great run, and a hilarious show !

  • mama's family was the best sticom ever. they should have not canceled it in 1990 since it was still popular. they could have kept making new episides untll 1993.

  • Dorothy Lyman's schedule sounds incredible. She must have been one talented professional to pull that off.

  • Bubba was/is hot!

  • I think I like Thelma Harper better than Vicki Lawrence...I know how that sounds, but it's true.

  • I know what you mean....there's something about her demeanor that rubs me the wrong way. The way she snaps at the guests "stand up" sounds ruder than I'm sure she intended.

  • Where were Eric Brown (Buzz), Karin Argoud (Sonja), Betty White (Ellen Harper Jackson) and Rue McClanahan (Fran Crowley)? They were a part of that show, too.

  • No, they were a part of Mama's Family before syndication. Technically, it might as well have been a completely different show.

  • I know, right?

I wanna see Karin Argoud's fine ass.

I've had a crush on her since I was little.

  • I wonder why Buzz and Sonia didn't appear on the show?

  • i forgot about them, i was wondering why betty white (ellen) and rue mcclanahan (aunt fran) didn't make it.

  • @MsOctober78 they only lasted one season

  • allan kayser is so hot. what i would do to him.

  • @ILoveBigDicksx who's?

  • Allan Kayser enjoys the company of well-endowed men.

  • He's not a fag...but maybe you are!!

  • How do you know?

  • who doesn't

  • Thats EXTRA correspondent and Richard Simmons Dream Maker Co-host Jerry Pennacoli as the security guard escortin mama in.

  • The jerky camera movements make this look like clay-mation or something.

  • this is awesome! I love Mama's Family!

  • All I see is that are reruns are girlfriends, the wayans bros, the golden girls, less than perfect, Reba and of course Roseanne I like those shows but I wish they had more reruns on TV.

  • Could this show be any more 90s?

  • I would like to say that I forgot who played Iola. I only remembered that Beverly Archer played her. Thank You.

  • What year did this show air? I don't remember watching on the TV. Thank You.

  • I enjoy watching Vicki Lawrence as either herself as Mama. Thank You.

  • vicki's hot...what i'd give

  • how long did her talk show last?

  • one season i believe, it got cancelled cause of lower rating and vicki's divalike behavior off camera! i love that! she's a bitch but a loveable one!

  • Where were Eric Brown (Buzz) and Karin Argoud (Sonja) ?

  • Im only 15 an me and my sister who is 19 used to sit around and watch re-runs. They were so funny, and they still are. But i never see re-runs on tv anymore. I had a chance to meet Rue Mclanahan, when she wrote her book, but my sister had One Act Play that night, i was pissed.

  • They sadly only rerun the same old same old. I only see Fresh Prince Of Bell Air, Rosanne, and Home Improvement on lately. IT's a shame. I like those shows but I wish they had more reruns on TV.

  • how come they didnt have rue mclanahan and the vintin's two kids? they were on the first season im only 17 but i did watch mama's family on tbs

  • Allan Kayser...SO HOTT!!!!

  • He looks uncomfortable and stiff....

  • I bet he has something stiff under those undwerwear.

  • @TheDreamGuy85 hi who r u talking about

  • @ItBrandonSilver I wonder about people who seem to focus on sex, no matter if sex is the topic or not. Do you have alot of sexual tension? Believe it or not, sex is not the only interesting thing out there. Grant you, it IS a good topic...just not the only topic.

  • Loved this show!

  • as an kid I saw mama's family on ion please bring the show back

  • MOTHER HARPER!!!

  • Thank you sooo much! I love hidden or missed shows like these where we find out more about the actors and end up loving the show even more!

  • They should've had them there, they were on thew show for two seasons?

  • I LOVED this show...was hilarious

  • What about Buzz or Sonya?

  • i agree. i hated how the show was revamped after the first season when aunt fran died and buzz and sonya disappeared. they never came by to visit either.

  • Loved Mama Family Vint was great and Noami the tramp lol

  • Love Mama's Family... )-:

  • y the frown

  • They were better simpler times.

  • o yes

  • The most underrated show!!!!

  • @papichulo811 I totally agree. This is the best show ever.

  • @papichulo811 I totally agree! This show was soooo funny!

  • I've been a "Mama's" fan since I was a kid, and I'm only 22! I've always loved how sassy and humorously rude she is.

  • me too llooollll

  • I always thought that I was the only person who loved this show. I'm glad that others did too. I wish they would finish releasing the other seasons.

  • I enjoy watching the show . I am wondering how old this is . I like to see what they look like today .

  • is it just me or was she acting like mama at 0:27 just before she hung up the phone when she said "She's an older woman about my height". She had that same cranky manner Mama did in the syndication episodes

  • that was the joke

  • no, that wasn't the intended joke at all. She meant to be Vicki Lawrence--not Mama yet.

  • Vicki Lawrence is so talented! She was able to be in the audience as Mama and then up on the panel at the same time. How does she do it?

  • I didn't get how Iola and Mama were such good friends, despite thier age difference. Can anyone explain?

  • what do u mean you don't get how they were such good friends? I don't understand your question? They both went to the same church and had the same interests, not too mention Iola constantly visited. I don't think Mama ever once visited Iola at her place. lmao! In fact, Mama has never even been shown inside of Iola's house. lmao! Iola was more of a visitor who overstayed her welcome. Also, if no one got what I meant about Leah Remini, youtube Leah Remini on the Ellen show. lmao!

  • im not sure but i believe Iola was the replacement of "Aunt Fran" -Thelma's younger sister. Who was about 5-10 years younger. I suppose Iola just related more to older people.

  • omg! This has been one of my top favorite shows for at least the past 10 years. I can't believe I never knew this reunion existed! I guess I was too young when it aired. Thank you so much!

  • Vicki reminds me of Leah Remini. They both go slightly too far with the joking and become offensive, but it's always funny, but I'm just not sure how funny it is to the people they're directing their remarks too. As some examples, the whole "I'm younger than everyone here" comment "Naomi's a slut" comment. lol! It's like damn lol!

  • Dorothy looks rough and old

  • I love Mama's Family!

and Bubba was Hot too :P

  • Bubba sure was hot, had a GREAT body

  • I got like almost all the episodes of mamas family recorded! It is so funny:)

  • Beverly Archer,"Iola" looks kinda Hot!

  • Dorothy Lyman's dress is TERRIFYING. I won't be able to sleep tonight because every time I close my eyes, I see those shoulderpads.

  • Dorothy Lyman's dress is TERRIFYING. I won't be able to sleep tonight because every time I close my eyes, I see those shoulderpads.

  • I loved this show too, I am watching it now on ION tv. It is the episode where Noami became assistant general manager at Food Circus.

  • I was too!

  • love mama's family here in australia, too!

  • me too

  • I love Mama's Family, all-time favoriate sitcom! I used to wake up at 2am in the morning to record this show, all back-to-back commercial-free marathon! I have about 7 tapes full of it! I'm so glad to know there are soooo many people out there who loves this show besides me. I don't know anyone my age who likes this beside my sister and myself.

  • this was in 1994

  • i had the pleasure of meeting vicki after her two woman show a couple of years ago and i took a picture with her and she was sort of a crappy mood but seemed ok

  • How long after the show ended was this taped?

  • beverly archer looks like an insect

  • I loved this show! Thanks for posting!

  • I wonder what year this was made?

  • 1992 or 93

  • oh ty

  • It says 1992 on the ending credits. This would make sense as to this was when The Golden Palace started and Betty White on the phone said they had just gotten on the air.

  • if any one can help me i need the click of mama's mother Grandma crowley the photo mama hold's in her hands i want that photo if any one has it pleaseeee

  • Your Mom is lame.

  • How does it depress you?

  • Alan Kayser ("Bubba") was so hot. Handsome and a slammin' body. This always struck me as somewhat of a miscast. Naomi, Vint, Iola, Eunice, and Mama were all various forms of losers. He was supposedly disowned for being a juvenile deliquent, yet his character always reflected a heart of gold. It seems to me they should've cast someone dorkier and/or belligerent

  • Thank you for posting this! I just love Mama's Family and this was great to see!

  • She had a great show! I totally loved her talk show!

  • Oh my God, I remember that set! I used to watch the Vicki Lawrence show all the time when I was a kid!! Wow, hooray for the 90's!

  • I just loved seeing this... I smiled the whole time.. This show would kick arse right now if they still made eppys...

  • omggggggggggg! i am such a huge fan of mama's family! wow..i didn't know there was a reunion!!! thanks for posting this!

  • Glad you liked it!!

  • I think the first run of the show was funnier. It gave more "down home" type of feel which was very original for a sitcom back then. I think all the exta family members (sonya, buzz, eunice, ellen, and fran)made it more realistic as far as depicting relations between a southern family. Even though second run had more interesting storylines, it seemed more contrived and dependent mamma's one-liners. Eitherway I loved both shows and will always be a die-hard mama's family fan. Great video!

  • I agree 100%!! The NBC version is closer the the spirit of the original Burnett sketches. Vint and Naomi were not as dumbed down. Naomi was the "foil" for Mama a lot of times since Eunice was not there on a regular basis. If only SOMEONE would release the uncut versions of the NBC run on DVD or at least put all "The Family" sketches from the Burnett show in a boxed set!!

  • Does anyone know what happened to vints two kids from his first mariage?? Buzz and Sonja where did they go??

  • they went off to college then thats when bubba moved n

  • thank you for the response but can you tell me what the real live actors are doing now???

  • they got shipped off to iraq

  • I loved this show! I used to watch it with my Mom...called her Mamma...and she STILL calls me "Vinton!" If you've never seen it...you have to check it out sometime...great sitcom tv!

  • Who's the beefy hunky security guard?? ;-)

  • Jerry Penacoli. He later did Richard Simmons DREAM MAKER then began work for EXTRA!

  • That's what I would like to know! LOL

  • Great job, I loved this show still watch it every night before bed.

  • I agree, I like the syndicated versions waaayyy better, Id wish they release those on dvd instead of the first season of 1982

  • I've never seen Beverly Archer outside of the show!!

  • She was in the Brady Bunch movie. And in an episode of Freddy's Nightmares.

  • I've seen her on an episode of The Nanny. She plays a flight attendant .

  • woops I think I meant Naomi..sorry.

  • I met Ken Berry in person at an autograph show in 2000, one where you pay $10 for celebrities to sign their 8x10 pictures. He was NOTHING like Vinton Harper, very business-like and kind of cold. He wrote nothing personal for me, just his name and thanks. When I gave him a ten dollar bill, he stuffed it in his pocket and turned away. Sometimes it better not to meet these people...

  • Am I the only one who is not a big fan of the first few seasons? The Bubba and Lola years were the best

  • I totally agree with u. The first few seasons weren't that funny but when Iola and Bubba came it got a lot better

  • Well...with the exception of the episodes featuring Carol Burnett as Eunice. Haven't u ever seen the episode where she sings at Vint & Naomi's wedding!?!? OMG! HILARIOUS. Probably the best episode of the show's run!

  • Thank you so much! I taped this years ago and taped over it by mistake.

  • That's Entertainment Tonight's Jerry Pennicoli as the cop in the opening!! haa haa

  • Whoa! I never knew Beverly Archer had legs like that!!! Have had a crush on her for years but DANG! She's killer! :)

  • whoah. scary.

  • I loved this show! Especially after the 2 year hiatus in 1985, after which they wrote out Rue McClanahan and Betty White (who went to do The Golden Girls) and brought in Allan Keyser (Bubba); the final 5 seasons were by far the wittiest, but seasons 1 and 2 were great as well. Can't wait for them all to come out on DVD!

  • Alan Keyser is a jerk. Dorothy Lyman rocks! Beverly Archer has awesome legs and Ken Berry is a truly gifted man.

  • Hey. Why do you say that about Alan? Just curious. Thanks!

  • Gosh I love Iola!

  • Vicki's talk show aired from 1992-1994. This particular episode aired in 1992 (says so in the end credits). So this was 2 years after "Mama" ended.

  • Actually, the show first aired in 1983 and ended in 1990.

  • I remember when this came on TV. 1994 I believe was the year. I never got to see it until just recently for the very first time 13 years later! Thank you very much. I hope this show lives on forever. It has made me laugh like no other show. Maybe it will be included on a future DVD release.

  • Oh geez! I never knew of this reunion show. When was that? Well, the huge shoulder pads of course give it away - the '80s. Shortly after the show originally went off the air? I believe TBS is still rerunning it in the wee hours of the morning - 3:00 AM PST?. Used to tape and watch it again and again! Vicki was such a hoot with the whole gang! Looove it forever!
