I for one, liked the original Hellsing more than the OVAs. Mostly because, the OVAs defeated alot of what the original was. For me, though the animation in the OVAs were good, but the way they did things were like the ways of the new, typical anime shows today. Which I did not like. Like cheesey, un-emotional lines with no deeper meaning.

Alucard wasn't in the novel. It was Hollywood that came up with the idea.

This has prolly already been said, but Alucard inspired the main character Dante from the Devil May Cry games. Just check out his pistols....Ebony and Ivory :P

Re-watch Episodes 12 and 13 from the anime where Alucard battles the Dark Continent Demon/Vampire/Freak+the demon Sett, after that tell me they're not equally good :)

I liked the series,but I think the OVAs are better.I like Alucard a lot,don't know why but somehow I just can't keep my eyes of him.His diabolic but sweet,or maybe I'm just a little crazy.
