Also ... des ding hab ich in fünf bis zehn minuten kurz gemacht, des 3D model hab ich aus ner ATI demo und hab dann einfach en paar total bekloppte texturen und shader drüber gelegt. Rendern lassen ... fertig ;-)

Maya is pretty much the de facto standard for 3D right now, from what my modeling / animating friends tell me. Not necessarily because it's"better", but mostly because Autodesk is a marketing giant that overcharges for it's products so it can buy more advertising so it can overcharge for it's products. Like Adobe!

Cinema4D is such a amateurish program. Boys use that but men use XSI, 3dsmax or Maya.

dude i use cinema 4d and 3dsmax And maya for my education and cinema 4d Owns 3dsmax in almost every way and ofcourse maya is the best but it costs about 30.000 dolars thats 27.000 more than cinema 4d

Can you also point me to the direction where Maya cost 30000, were you high when you pulled that number out, and let me assure you, this is 2008 not 1998.

Go to the Autodesk store and see the price of Maya.

hmm it reads $4995 for the Unlimited Edition or you can get the Complete Edition which still has more features than Cinema 4D for $1995 from the Autodesk store.

Cinema 4D is not as good as maya or 3dsmax? No. But Cinema 4D is often used by people that doesn't know much about 3D, and therefore, other people get the wrong impression of Cinema 4D.

Let's take this video for an example. It's not a good model, and only premade procedural shaders is used. Therefore you get an impression of Cinema 4D that says that this is all you can make with the program.

Each programm has it's own advantages and disadvantages. C4D is good for character modeling and animation. SMAX is good for architecture. Rhino is good for industrial design.

How do you measure a 3D/4D software? Is coffee better than tea? German better than English?

That's the name of the 3D rendering software package. It's called "Cinema 4D". You'd have to ask the company that made the software why they called it 4D.
