Attraverso la carica di energia nervosa e vitale della composizione, Mravinsky trasmette anche il messaggio di orgoglio e desiderio di riconoscenza di un intero popolo ! Quando l'Artista diventa la voce dell'intera società di tutta una nazione ! Shostakovitch ha ricevuta la medaglia di Artista della Patria per questo e tanti altri meriti artistici, culturali e sociali ! In occidente non so se esiste questo tipo di "Tributo agli Artisti e alle Persone di Cultura" !!!

What memories for Mravinsky! He premiered that symphony in 1935 (if memory serves me right)... He and DDSh were close friends (until the episode of the "Babiy Yar" 13th Symphony).

At this time the wonderful Victor Liberman was still concertmaster.I heard a lot of his teaching in Utrecht,and had the privilege of following his rehearsals
with the Concertgebouv orchestra when he conducted this very symphony.I learned so much .Thank You For .
