Wasnt a peacfull protest they threw rocks just the wrong sort of soilders to send in and they were ordered not to go in that area. One IRA member admited he had a sub machine gun and nail bombs but was not at the protest. Nobody knows whow was inocent on that day unless they were there.

Bottom line is : There were innocent people in the peace protest, but yet the British kept firing their rounds. The evidence in there in black and white , the British were terrified of the masses of people PEACEFULLY protesting.

I don`t subscribe to the killing of innocent people either, as alleged on "Bloody Sunday," nor do I subscribe to the killing of British Soldiers by faceless terrorists, who fire weapons from the safety of monasteries, and behind women and children as a cover, or killing innocent civilians, who have nothing to do with the "War". I served there in 1971.

@malaga22 There were no bullets, guns, casings, or nail bombs found as the inquiry stated. No soldiers were fired upon, and they had no right to fire on unarmed civilians unless bullets were fired at them.
We know the truth, and that is why money was given to the family's in 2008 for condolences.
oh and all of the victims killed or injured had no IRA affiliations or memberships.

This is the final nail in the coffin of the Troubles.
Catholics in Northern Ireland have the same rights as Protestants. Loyalists and nationalist terrorist groups have disarmed and support the peace process. The democratic majority from both communities are represented in the Northern Assembly and the PSNI is supported by both Catholics and Protestants. The war is well and truly over. Now the Bloody Sunday victims are vindicated.

Seamus, if you are going to argue get the facts straight-at least three shooters were in the bogside firng at the troops. The youngest person shot was 17 years old and no women were shot. That does not mean that what happened was not dreadful and completely unethical however.
