  • eevrytime i listen to this fucking song it stops and freezes 3 times. why?!?!

  • bought this cd after 8th grade, summer 2000. changed my life forever. obviously new music has come into my life, im actually a big hiphop head now, but whenever i listen to this cd and this song i feel it more than ever. TGUK for life.

  • Awesome fucking song.

  • its from Pee Wee's big adventure....

  • NOOO the song was too awesome I didn't pay attention and accidently clicked "dislike"... D:

The Get Up Kids is alright, they sound a bit like Fall Out Boy's early days debut mini-LP "Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend," well bassist Pete Wentz drew inspiration from The Get Up Kids which is why I know of them.

  • @Patspwnage FOB are still horrible.

  • @attben Fall Out Boy are the best thing, period.

  • @Patspwnage lol actually i agree with you.

  • @Patspwnage Pete Wentz wishes he could draw inspiration from TGUK.....if he believes he has then it isn't evident in any of their horrible pop music.

  • @codenamedestruction Look deeper into Fall Out Boy's lyrics. No not just their Billboard hits but everything else.

  • @Patspwnage Here let me help you. You obviously meant that Fall Out Boy sounds like TGUK.

  • @Patspwnage dont you ever compare the get up kids to such a shitty band! FUCK A BUNCH OF FALL OUT BOY! TGUK ALL THE WAY!!! if anything fall out bot got there style from these guys. Something to Write Home about is the best album i've EVER purchased.

  • @DannyCrabb Then you obviously don't like Fall Out Boy but just because they sold quite a bit and gained a large following doesn't mean they're not good. They write all their own songs and play all their instruments. Their lyrics are insanely complex and are about meaningful topics including societal shortcomings and moral decay over the years.

  • @Patspwnage they're rubbish.

  • Sounds like a young Tomas Kalnoky from Streetlight Manifesto... Are they related?

  • Im a loner dottie....a rebel

theres things about me you dont know, things you cant know, things you shouldnt know......

  • @0:42, i knew this was gonna hit me like a ton of bricks. <3 TGUK

  • I love this song. This band is a long time favorite of mine. It's also kind of funny that the singer sounds a bit like Peewee.

  • you don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me.

  • Two people don't like music because they're loners and rebels......

  • I am a fucking rebel that's what my name means...

  • many memories of listening to this on my discman on the bus to school

  • Love this song.

  • I say we STAB him!

    Then we TATTOO him!

    Then we HANG him!

    and then we KILL him!

  • Best Song.

  • hahaha he has peni for eyes

  • One of my all-time favorite songs. This bass line is a masterpiece.

  • In the mid 90's, I was in my mid 20's. This didn't come out then, but I loved BRAID.

  • @XrellisX Braid is the bees knees

  • @headtrips1 indeed they are the cat's pyjamas

  • This song rocks my tits off :D

  • @300MUSIC lol

  • Mid 90's high school memories. Now class raise your hand if you heard this on their demo with Braid. Hell hands up if you know who Braid is...

  • @MrDamnTheManDan Braid= very under appreciated!!!

  • i love this song... this is really my fav band <3

    tguk <3<3

  • "keep my hands by my side"......... this line gets me everytime i hear it

  • the song title's originally from the S.E. Hinton book "the outsiders" it was later recycled by Peewee Herman in his "Peewee's big adventure" movie.

  • i love Transit's cover of this song.

  • upload the original..

  • demo version?

  • You don't want to get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel. Lol,

  • its a peewee herman quote, not sure if anybody answered you yet

  • good call. Look up James Dean some time...

  • uh,yea i totally knew that i mean oviously its originally james dean i was just being facetious... ;-)

  • @beficasita666 sorry if this is ignorant, but is "im a loner dottie, a rebel" originally come from pee wee or is it derived from james dean or something? ive been trying to research it for awhile now but have had no luck. you help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

  • @valdezxyz91 well i hear peewee say it but that guy up there implyed its james dean so maybe it wuz,idk i gave up commenting on youtube videos lol

  • Been 6 years for me and I still love it.. Peewee 4 life

  • Fuck that. The get up kids never get old. This song is still as awesome as the day i heard it. This whole cd is. I have grown up and moved on to other bands but I truly loved this album and this band..that never goes away.

  • @AbrahamSamable yeah you move on but the memories never leave. I've have just refound the get up kids. I forgot about them for a second there. but I frikkin love them.

  • @AbrahamSamable With you 100%, I started listening to this band when I was 13, lately I'm an instrumental rock/jazz-head, but I'm 25 now and this album is still as good as ever.

  • @Necrophrenic It's just well-written pop music with lots of heart. That's why I love it. I'll always be into it, no matter how much bluegrass or jazz I listen to now a days.

  • @AbrahamSamable I agree. This was the first CD I heard from them just over ten years ago, and I fell in love. I purchased the 10th-anniversary vinyl and have the sleeve framed on my wall.

  • Give*

    Too many hot toddys.

  • peewee bein' a badass.

  • Man, I remember loving this song during my freshman year of high school. Can't stand the song now, which is a little disappointing.

Hail to my fellow former emo kids who didn't have MySpace as an outlet to release your inner emoness.

  • How can you not stand this song?

  • Five it a few years. You won't be able to stand it either.

  • lmao

  • hahah

  • @Megriz Haha I stumbled upon this video - had a flashback - and realized i was so emo freshmen yr circa 99. And then I read this quote

  • love the song, the quote, and pee-wee's big adventure.

  • the phrase is off of pee-wee's big adventure :D

  • oh, okies thanks :p

  • A common phrase is "It's nothing to write home about" meaning that it isn't important. This is just the opposite.

  • Peewee: There's a lot of things about me that you don't know anything about Dottie, Things you wouldn't understand, Things you couldn't understand, Things you shouldn't understand. Dottie: I don't understand. Peewee: You don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me, I'm a loner Dottie, a rebel, So long Dot.
  • @attben I can not believe you didn't know that when you posted this video, didn't you have a childhood!?
