The only thing youtube has that vimeo doesn't is ubiquity. And considering the lowest common denominator type that YouTube tends to engage, maybe that's a good thing. YouTube would be well-served to remember that they're throwing away hundreds of thousands of page views by doing this. Maybe a drop in the bucket for a titan like them, but it's a bad precedent to set.
