was a definite classic 4 me cause i always looked 4 this game in the arcade!! if my father was alive 2day 2 c this, he would've loved it!!! this game, super hang-on and outrun were his faves!!
@macwhoelse Indeed, I'm not sure why I got it though, IT's not my fave Sega racer. I think given a choice I'd have gone for something like OutRun. (I'd love to own a Daytona machine)
@ScrewAttackEurope Yeah, I entered a few competitions back in the day desperately hoping for an Outrun Arcade machine. lol. Never happened of course. :)
@ScrewAttackEurope im having the same problem with it on the emulator the jumps are excrutiating and hitting jumps without crashing can be impossible.
i remember playing enduro racer back in the day and u had to stand up on the bike and pull back when u hit a jump it was definitely a hard game i got fustrated quite quickly with it .
@RallyDon82 Yeah, it was definitely a hard & frustrating game. But back in the day to see your bike leap up in the air on an arcade machine was awesome. lol :)
There is a person selling two of these machines; one working, one not, for $75 dollars for both. I'm thinking of picking them up and fixing them and potentially selling one or both. What are your thoughts?
I had the Sega Master System and bought this game for it. Although, initially disappointed it was a 2d sideways scroller instead of 3D like the arcade, I actually enjoyed the game for what it was. Each to their own I suppose. :)
the fact it was sideways and not 3D was my main issue, however it was nearly 25 years ago so perhaps i was being a tad harsh, i myself have a mame 32 emulator with this on, cant even get past the 2nd level these days, forgot how hard arcade games were
When Sega put out their 1987 game catalog for the Master System, they showed an arcade perfect version of ER. I knew it couldn't have been the arcade game, because the timer was in the center instead of the left. I couldn't tell you how excited I was. I called Sega every day, and was promised by many reps that the MS version would be just like the aracde game.
My parents get it for me, and it turns out to be the POC described above.
I hated it. My biggest gaming disappointment of all time.
I was disappointed with Enduro Racer too, I thought it was gonna be awesome cos the ZX Spectrum version was decent , but when I saw the isometric view on the back of the box I was well pissed off!
ah, those long gone day's of yesteryear ! good vibes comes from those old games. thanks for showing. i also hardley ever could get out of the first stage, and if i did got trough, then the second stage would stop me for sure :-)
well, as you can see from my own last few video's, i am also into old school gaming :-) ofcourse current games has better graphics and gameplay, but that won't stop me reminding how exelent gaming was in the old day's of yesteryear ! those sega ages games on the sega saturn really gives me good vibes. to bad this one is'nt in the series.
well, in the early day's of gaming, no gamecompany tried to make their game "realistic". the reason i game, is to be able to escape reallity for a while, and do something fun :-D so indeed, old games may not look the part, but they still are fun to play. at least for me :-) and a lot of other old school gamers.
Making the videos is easy, it's playing this game that's hard!! lol. Will have a practice and see if I can make a longer version over the next few days.

It's so cool to find out that many of these games were not just SEGA MASTER versions. I didn't know this was an arcade game too!

I would say go for it. If you have the time, money & space. There's still a lot of interest in these early arcade games. Enjoy.

@tyty7777777 75 bucks for 2 arcade machines? Do you know how much of a deal that is?
Nintendavin 1 year ago
@tyty7777777 i'd buy them if i had the space, $75 is cheap for a classic machine like this...

Well done. I was totally crap at it. Still am ! :)

Why do motorcycles always explode when they crash in arcade games?
Nintendavin 2 years ago
LOL. Yeah, that's so true. Especially the early games. :)
macwhoelse 2 years ago
Speaking of which, have you ever heard of or played a game called Rally Bike?

Yeah, some of those early arcade games were hard ! Just trying to get you to put in more coins I guess. I could never get past level 2 either ! lol

Same goes with their jerky OutRun conversion.
But I still had to get them both !

I think today's games have better graphics & sound but not necessarily better gameplay. I did love all Sega's arcade games & still do.

I agree. I'm not so much into realistic games. Just fun unrealistic games. :)

I saw this arcade machine on craigslist for $175. Should I get it?

I say if you got the room & the money. Start your own Arcade. Go for it. Why not? Enjoy !! :)

Thanks for the advice macwhoelse! By the way the music of this game is great.

I have not played this game since 2001. I love the song.

It was the early 90's when I last played this properly. Might try practising a bit more and make a longer video ! :)
