It was Leiji Matsumoto who did the film part. In the original Interstella 5555, it was Daft Punk's music. So technically Daft Punk isn't involved in this specific video at all...

Yeah, in the music video it is the girl who did leave; however, since Shep doesn't really dance or sing besides one scene (Digital Love) it would've been a very difficult video. I believe this works a bit more since out of the two Shep was forced to leave, but as I said in the description it's just a parody of the music video; it's not dead on. :]
