I just stopped eating any chicken nuggets because of what they were made of, and I saw on the Tyson chicken nugget bag it said 100% white chicken meat. Then I looked it up on answers .com and it said they were still all natural. When I googled it I found this. And now me, my family, and my whole school have vowed to stop this abuse. And the word is spreading. Yeah, people need to eat, but they don't need to eat this crap. Tyson workers: this wouldn't be happening if you just did ur job.

We don't exploit animals. Shit, if a chicken had to choose between living the way they do and living in the wild (they can't make a educated choice, in real life) they'd choose us. We give them food, water and protection, 3 of the most important things for a chicken.

Meat from well kept and humanely killed animals tastes so much sweeter, fresher and better than meat from intensivly farmed, stressed and injured animals. Animals who's natural needs such as the diet nature intended them to eat, are not adhered to, don't produce a good quality meat, and infact meat from such animals isn't really good in the human food chain. Animals packed with antiboitics & un natural food, provide poor quality meats.

I work at this plant, and I have seen live hang before we switched over to fowl. There is a camera on the live hang area in the plant manager's office 24/7 to ensure that people aren't mistreating the birds. The feed is still up. If there is ever instance of abuse to the animals my company is quick to correct it, not only because it is wrong, but because it is a loss in money if the animals aren't processed properly. I am sorry for the girl who her dad was killed at tyson. It won't happer here.
I hate to hear about your dad. I am in safety and would like to know what plant he was working at. We all try to take care of our own, and it makes me sad to think that someone didn't make it home from work. Its desturbing what some of these companies do. The other side of this problem is that we are over populated and we require alot of food. I'm not sure what the best solution to this problem is besides public education and support your local farmer. My wife and I are switching to all organic foods and planting a garden.

First of all, yes, many animal rights activists likely also oppose the human death penalty. Myself included. It costs taxpayers exponentially more money to execute a criminal than it does to imprison them for life, so why throw the money away?
Second, bear in mind the point of differentiation between an animal and a human on death row. The human has very likely murdered another person in cold blood, while the animal has most certainly not.

So the employee responsible for shutting down the line puts himself in danger of losing his job; (2) assuming 'maint' means 'maintenance', the abuses Virgil talks about can't be made right by 'fixing' a machine ('the line'). It's the way people do their jobs and that only can be fixed by an appeal to conscience. 'Shame' is one of the best motivators for a change in behavior.
Have you ever wondered why Tyson plants show up in all these small towns, mostly in rural areas? My guess is (1) their practices aren't as likely to get noticed by the mainstream media; (2) Tyson is the major, or only, employer for miles around. So if you want a job, you have little choice; (3) the people that work at Tyson plants in these small towns are afraid to speak up about the abuses because they'd get fired if they did. There is plenty of evidence to support that pigs are pretty darn smart. Have you ever tried to catch a wild pig? Not easy. If we kept dogs locked up in cages they'd be plenty easy to catch, their legs wouldn't work and theyd be twice the size since we'd pump them full of growth hormones, feed them corn, and then pump them full of antibiotics to combat the first two things we did wrong. You can tell a chicken you have is truely healthy because they are smaller, and it has yellow fat. Theyre more expensive but they taste so much better and are way healthier for you.

My bf works here, supports my family and helps us to feed our kids. Its the best paying job out here in this small town, so we have to make due with what we can. I used to work at Tyson. I remember seeing the cartoon metal sign up front with a pig, a chicken and a cow who appear so happy and jolly and giving the thumbs up pose. I also remember at the entrance it gave a note to all employees that basically said they loved animals. I got a good laugh!

We don't exploit animals. Shit, if a chicken had to choose between living the way they do and living in the wild (they can't make a educated choice, in real life) they'd choose us. We give them food, water and protection, 3 of the most important things for a chicken.

I work at this plant, and I have seen live hang before we switched over to fowl. There is a camera on the live hang area in the plant manager's office 24/7 to ensure that people aren't mistreating the birds. The feed is still up. If there is ever instance of abuse to the animals my company is quick to correct it, not only because it is wrong, but because it is a loss in money if the animals aren't processed properly. I am sorry for the girl who her dad was killed at tyson. It won't happer here.

Ive been in a slaughterhouse in South Carolina and they were beating the cows alive and there was blood everywhere, you are supposed to electrocute til theyre unconcious and slit the throat and its a quick death but its VERY common they are abused. First of all, yes, many animal rights activists likely also oppose the human death penalty. Myself included. It costs taxpayers exponentially more money to execute a criminal than it does to imprison them for life, so why throw the money away?
Second, bear in mind the point of differentiation between an animal and a human on death row. The human has very likely murdered another person in cold blood, while the animal has most certainly not.

So the employee responsible for shutting down the line puts himself in danger of losing his job; (2) assuming 'maint' means 'maintenance', the abuses Virgil talks about can't be made right by 'fixing' a machine ('the line'). It's the way people do their jobs and that only can be fixed by an appeal to conscience. 'Shame' is one of the best motivators for a change in behavior.

My guess is (1) their practices aren't as likely to get noticed by the mainstream media; (2) Tyson is the major, or only, employer for miles around. There is plenty of evidence to support that pigs are pretty darn smart. Have you ever tried to catch a wild pig? Not easy. If we kept dogs locked up in cages they'd be plenty easy to catch, their legs wouldn't work and theyd be twice the size since we'd pump them full of growth hormones, feed them corn, and then pump them full of antibiotics to combat the first two things we did wrong. And who knows, maybe dogs are yummy.

I don't buy Tyson do you? I go with the local farmers for veggies and free range animals when I eat them and I still won't eat beef or pork, birds and fish only.
There's a food war going on to soft kill us all by injecting viruses into foods and strange chemicals used to process it.
Most all health issues today are directly related to the stuff you eat from the stores you shop at.
Forget about your inherent trust in food.
Know what your eating and where it comes from.

@Globalstomp2 I know, at first i wasnt going to eat any chickens, now i go to a local chicken farm, where the animals are truely free range, not what the companies try to get away with. You can tell a chicken you have is truely healthy because they are smaller, and it has yellow fat. Theyre more expensive but they taste so much better and are way healthier for you.

Nothing you can do about this, chickens produce fast and they make money off it. As long as they make a profit off killing chickens they wont stop. My bf works here, supports my family and helps us to feed our kids. Its the best paying job out here in this small town, so we have to make due with what we can. This is wrong of them to kill so many, and the way they do it as well, but as I said before if its not tyson then it will be some other place.

What Tyson or Pilgrims? lol all these thumbs down on me wtf?well I never saw animal abuse at tyson but i have at pilgrims but not at the pilgrims i work at! I saw a video of some employees at pilgrims pride slamming chickens up against the wall,now that is wrong but i sure as hell am not gonna quit working cause of it!! I used to work at Tyson. I remember seeing the cartoon metal sign up front with a pig, a chicken and a cow who appear so happy and jolly and giving the thumbs up pose. I also remember at the entrance it gave a note to all employees that basically said they loved animals. I got a good laugh!
"First I'll shoot you in the head, then slit your throat and let you hang for a few minutes, then I'll skin you, then cut your horns off, cut your...ect,ect,ect!"

hey its not the best way but dont get ur panties in a bundle. i dont feel particularly bad, but this doesn't make me feel good either. take it as it is. Chickens get killed, we eat them. that is the way it goes and thats how its gonna be and theres nothing you can do about it. in the meantime, eat up and enjoy it! YUM

Really, I don't think it's too cruel to kill a bunch of chickens to eat them. Chicken have no other significant purpose other than to be eaten. I don't care if you call me cold hearted or vindictive for not feeling remorse about a chicken being killed in a 'horrible way' but, it's just a chicken to me. And I don't want to argue either i'm just putting my two cents in. :P

i have only one solution to this if you want to eat meat: home grown!! your own farm, chickens, cattle. pigs; that way ya know where it comes from ;)
