Steven Adler will remain one of my favorite drummers for one thing: The opening beat to Paradise City. First heard it when I was 4, still the one thing that will make me want to jump around like the happiest kid.
Shit happens in life, but everything is OK in most cases as long as you aren't dead. I'm happy Steve is still around and I really hope he stays clean. By the looks of it he's a good guy so i honestly wish him all the best.

@maziku I quit drinking too.In fact, I was able to quit everything but the opiates.Even with treatment programs and NA/AA,I was constantly relapsing with the opiates.Thank God for methadone,it gave me my life back.Always glad to hear from someone like yourself who is fighting the good fight.

Better yet, why can't we sustain on our opiate of choice? I was a long term doctor supported opiate addict while I awaited proper diagnoses and treatment until my doctor was investigated and I was dropped cold turkey without any meds. I wasn't the criminal in that situation, my doctor was but legitimate pain patients like myself and others were penalized for his crimes.
Legalize the lot of it, the war on drugs will never be won as long as there is demand.

According to some of my clinic clients they are starting to demand urine confirmations that patients are taking their doctor prescribed opiates, too, and not diverting them. The liquid shackles are intended to do more than keep people off of street drugs, they're a means of keeping people docile and stagnant. Doctors hate when patients use MMT for a rapid, structured detox, they'd rather have you for life.

Chip Z'Nuff's guitar player from Enuff Z'Nuff died of a drug overdose in 2004- Derek Frigo. he was a monster guitar player, but could never get his bad habits straight.
The guy had a stroke because he used uppers and downers at once along with pills. He just took too much at once. I hope he stays sober. He was a great drummer with GNR back in the day. I have been in the party scene. Was for six years. Partied hard here in Texas. That is how we do it. Just one day i said enough is enough and quit everything.

I haven't used any drugs in almost 13 years and I have volunteered, that measn that I have donated my time without any kind of monetary compensation, as a substance abuse councellor for almost 5 years.

Maybe the guy who hit your friend was driving to meet his dealer, whereas if pot were legal he could have walked to his neighbourhood pharmacy to get what he was forced to drive that night to obtain?

There's a good chance that the last doctor or nurse that treated you had some kind of addiction, not all drug users abuse the drugs that they take, but those who have fallen for the "Just Say No" propaganda never mention functioning addicts in their diatribes.

I haven't used any drugs in almost 13 years and I have volunteered, that measn that I have donated my time without any kind of monetary compensation, as a substance abuse councellor for almost 5 years.
Having laws against child molestation, rape, assault etc protects people from being victimized by the actions of others. Drug laws protect no one and only serve to allow unsavoury individuals to molest and poison a substance that a person chooses to ingest.

I don't owe anyone anything, nor do I think that anyone owes me. I volunteer my time because I know that my life is more productive without drugs and that any life is more productive without them.
