McCain's platform & past record is completely against true Conservatism -- he spends too much, was for the stimulus plan, & loves too much government involvement in our lives. McCain's platform & past record is completely against true Conservatism -- he spends too much, was for the stimulus plan, & loves too much government involvement in our lives. A lot of us conservatives were unhappy McCain was nominated and ready to vote Libertarian. Then he picked the more conservative Palin as a running mate and we returned to the Republican Party. She got him a lot more votes than he would have received otherwise.

Because typically the Republican Party is closer to the Libertarian Party of less taxes and government than the Democratic Party is. It certainly is, in terms of Palin as opposed to Obama and Biden.

What does that have to do with Palin? She doesn't add anything to McCain that libertarians would like. She only scares them away with her religious zealotry , social conservatism and hollow skull. At least I would imagine I'm certainly not a libertarian.

Her record showed she was for less government involvement and lower taxes than Obama's or Biden's or even McCain's. Since a lot of Libertarians realize that it's still basically a 2 party system, they have to go with the one closer to their values.

Alaska is pretty much one of the most socialist states in America, or maybe a welfare state is more apt. It's a nice deal for them sure but not particularly admirable for anyone living in any of the other 49 states.

America is a country with a rich heritage, and a large part of that heritage includes Christianity and Christian believers.
However, the First Amendment specifically states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.."
While we recognize the tremendous influence that Christianity has had on the country, we also recognize that religion and government operate best separately.

A belief in god (deism, personal god, etc.) does NOT mean you belong to any church. A large portion of our Founding Fathers were deists, anyway. Now to answer the correct question:
Find ONE document or speech... that actually mocks organized religion/church.

When the Founders wrote the nation's Constitution, they specified that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."
