find it very creative how the game developers have found a new way to tackle the combat system of this video game. instead of your standard "shoot the head, creature dies" or "shoot it enough times, creature dies", they actually focus more upon the limbs being the weakest part, instead of the head or chest. also the limbs are smaller, making it harder to hit :P

I hate how when you shoot something in the head in this game, it doesn't die, unless the entire body is being controlled by tendrils, the nervous system is still required to make the dead tissue move, if you blow up a brain, the body can't move... unless its 100% tendril controlled, which isn't the case it doesn't look like with half of these creautures.

There may be one or more secondary brains in the torso or even limbs. Who's to say that the muscles in the creature don't contain cognitive capability. This is a brand new form of life, they probably don't even use the host's brain.

@lunarcrest13 i think that they are all tendril controlled, why else would destroying or severing the limbs be the most effective way to kill them. it seems to me that a parasite expands and controls the body like a puppet. and runs its self into the limbs of its host. also look up the last video, the tentacle that drags Clark down the hall is probably a gigantic version of the parasites that infects people's corpses

Also, these creatures seem to only use bodies as a means of bio mass - they don't need food or water and there is no air exchange. Therefore, it is safe to assume that their cardiovascular and nervous systems function differently than ours. Of course, they are an alien species, so we cannot apply any of our "known" sciences to them.

Plus, it's a video game. :)
