  • what helmet cam were you using mate... thanks

  • Great camera angle for showing the recoil. Many thanks!

  • the first 19 seconds, i thought your cam is from 1895 too :D

  • I just got a used marlin 336 .35 rem, and I love it; i call it "my ware wolf killer!" However, I really want the GBL or the SBL but I know it'll cost me so much more! What's effective range of the 45/70? Does it kick harder than the .35 rem?

    thanx

  • @H3LIOTROP3 250yrds is not a bad shot for the 45/70, kinda depends on bullet weights and charges. It does kick harder than the 35 rem. I havn't shot a 35 in several yrs

  • @RockDoctor07 OK, u just convinced me in getting the 1895 SBL. now the hard part; the long excruciating journey of saving up for it. :_(

    Thanx for the input

  • @H3LIOTROP3 Welcome :-)

  • YUP! Sure sounds Canadian to me!

Look out!!! Moose season is a comming.

  • Thinking about one... how does this compare to the recoil of a mosin nagant?

    -bix

  • I dont know what the recoil is on a mosin nagant, but mine doesnt kick that bad at all and i shoot 405 gr. remington and it kicks less than my 7mm or 300wsm

  • I love the stainless steel modles, but iv got the 45-70 and 444 in the wood stock beauties.

  • My dad has one like this same gun only with a scope It kicks like a mule haha best gun in the bush though

  • so cool!!! msg me! w

  • My Marlin did a number on a Gator here in Georgia the other day. I didnt think it would penetrate because the 45-70;s velocity is so much lower than the recomended .308 by the "pro" gator hunters down here.I love mine, its stainless.

  • bullet mass can counter velocity, and vice versa. that's why there are so many polarized fans of either the 5.56 or the 7.62.

  • Don't ya love how the smoke puffs out of the barrel when you cycle the lever? The sound of the action makes my mouth water. I own a 1895GS, the guide gun in stainless.

  • Does yours have the laminated Stock?

I think they look good on the stainless models.

  • I think only the XLR models come in the laminated stock. I have the walnut stock. I like the walnut stock better.
