I am planning to use this in the airplane for my toddler and trying to find out the sticker which says it can be used in plane. But couldn't find it. I neet to find it incase I need to cofirm someone in plane that it is FAA approved. Could you please post a picture with the sticker or tell me where do I need to look at? Thanks

I have this car seat for my 6 month old. I've installed it, rear facing, in the middle seat of my 99 saturn sl. I needed to install 2x4's under the front of the seat to make the red line level. It feels INCREDIBLY secure; so much more so than without the wood. Does anybody know if this will pose a problem in an accident? The wood isn't going to fly anywhere, I am sure of that, but can anybody think of any reason why this would be unsafe?

Any after market products used to adjust car seats or enhance them are not recommended.

It should be fine to install it that way. Generally you're asked to use pool noodles or rolled up towels, but a piece of wood won't compress and should work the same.

You should only use one, two, or three pool noodles. You cut them in about foot long sections and you can tower them together and tape them around. Then place them under the front of the seat. Or you can use a tightly rolled towel, also taped in place. Do NOT use wood under the seat. They have not been crash tested this way and it is extremely unsafe.

I thought this could be used rear facing with the head rest too? for toddlers? I am thinking of getting one but we extended rear face and harness,  with out the head rest my son's head is already 2 inches from the top, he would need the head rest by his 1st b day,, but I wouldnt turn him ffing by then?

Yes, you can use the seat RF with the headrest. But you can use it without the headrest RF if your child is both under 22lbs and under the red line.

Its nice being able to take the head rest off for very young babies, because you can recline it better.

@jfmom yes you can. According to the manual, the headrest must be used if the child is more than 22lbs or if the child's head gets within 1 inch of the top of the plastic. With the headrest on, it can be used RF until 35lbs, or until the child's head is within 1 inch of the top of the plastic on the headrest.

We bought this car seat and although my baby is comfortable, the seat was difficult to install in a Kia Rondo. The car seat was pressing against back of the driver's seat. I'm sure this seat is ideal for a van or large spacious vehicle.
