2:42-2:50 = very clean and accurate playing. That's the only part I haven't learned yet, do you transcribe in tabs or music? I think you said you learn by ear as I do but when you're writing something out do you do it in tabs or write music? Also, i like how when you're soloing over the jam Em>D section you compliment what Trey is playing so it's not a muddled, overcrowded mess like a lot of people's videos when they are jamming over a performance instead of a loop or no background at all.
Not bad man. Keep playing and posting videos, some of the best Phish covers on YT for sure. I saw a comment on an earlier video of yours that said you don't have rhythm, this vid should prove their comment to now be null and void :) If i remember correctly you're still in your teens for christ sake!
HAHA! I cant believe this dude below me asked you if you were really playing! HAHAHA! I guess you should take that as a compliment though! Thats just how good you are
waiting to see phish tonite in chicago, and watching this, thats pretty sick dude, fabulous guitar work my friend. keep up the good work, ud make trey proud. and the only reason GB asks if its really u is cuz its that damn good. fits right in.

good luck finding a drummer, pianist, and bassist to play along with you that well... unless you are lucky enough to be in school for music that is. job well done
dude. you have serious talent. I've started learning this song and have gotten the begining and end down. any tips for the middle. did you use tabs or just ear?
Great job! I used to play this song in my Phish cover band, Tartar. It was a hard one to learn. I think you played it well, but I would have left the distortion off until it was needed. It's funny, I met Trey and he asked me how I managed to learn this one. I too used Emils tabs. The only part that was really wrong in those tabs was the really hard riff at the end of the second written out part before the jam. It was clear that you did not follow Emils tabs for that part.
hey man, great job! you play it just like trey. i had to figure out an alternative fingering for the first "interlude" cause i cant bar the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string with my pinky like you do. sounds the exact same... but how the hell do you do it???
so it's safe to say emils tabs are pretty accurate...bc thats where i learned had to play this....and it looks look you did the same thing that i play
all you do exactly the way trey does it is play the guitar. Thats a good thing and you do it VERY WELL. It bugs me when people try to immitate all Treys manerisms. I'd love to see some youtube hater give you any bad reviews on this type of playing. Do you have any originals? I'd be playing Phish too dont get me wrong, just curious
Excellent playing man, much respect for doing this tough one justice. I thought your tone sounded great too, and liked the way you transitioned. People don't realize that two analogman ts-808 silver mods with an analogman bi-compressor (TWO YEAR waiting list!) could end up costing well over $500. Not to mention Paul Languedoc custom guitars start out at $10K!
Yeah yeah I know what you mean. Trey's rig is not an easy one to attain. But last week I bought a ts9 with the silver mod on Ebay. Sounds great. I use it with my standard TS9 reissue.
I've never used the analogman Bicompressor. Is it better than a Ross Compressor? How are they different?
Also, in response to your comment below, Trey originally played a Ross w/ Phish, but due to the age of the Ross compressors and low availability, I believe he has been using the analogman comprOsser (bicomp minus orange squeezer) while touring with the TAB. I remember him saying that in the early 2000s he removed the Ross from his rig because he saw it as his safety blanket, but then decided he liked the tone better and decided to start using compressors again, and he picked up a comprOsser.
Good playing man, thumbs up for doing this one justice. I thought your tone sounded fine, people don't realize that two tubescreamers (2 ts-808 analogman silver mods) and a bi-compressor (TWO YEAR waiting list from analogman) could end up costing well over $500. Not to mention that Languedoc custom guitars start out at 10K!
good playing, but I recommend you work on your tone, the super clean to super distortion sounds really well honestly bad you should get two tube screamers like trey, one on low with your volume on low, then one high and when you really wanna jam turn them both on.
I have one tubescreamer. And I was considering getting another, like Trey, but it's kind of expensive. But I think first I want to get an Analogman Mod on the one I already have. So the sound isn't so harsh. I wouldn't go so far to say that it sounds "really well honestly bad", but it's not Trey.
Yeah I know I have two tube screamers and a anologman compressor plus other effects. I didnt mean to say it sounds really bad I just am used to listening to Trey's amazing guitar. I reccomend getting a compressor wayyy more then another tube screamer, and not a boss one, get a anologman one, i reccomend mini bicompressor, it will enhance your tone more then you could imagine. keep posting phish dsongs I love it, any chance I could see a Curtain with maybe..
No problem man. And yeah I already have a ross compressor like Trey has, or used to have. It's pretty incredible. The ross is no longer in production and I think the Analogman compressors are inspired by it. Curtain With is a great tune. I don't know how playable it is for these "guitar only" videos. But I'll think about it.
retards? Did you really need to say that? Was it that important for you to miss the point of the fun? You're obviously a great player,...but you need to work on the sense of humour! Note: Please listen to a Little Richard record for notes on acutally enjoying playing! Not a put down, but a note of what fun is....cuz running around the stage celebrating the fact you are alive and have troubles,...just doesn't work when yer looking at a guitar.
I enjoy playing guitar more than I enjoy ANYTHING else. I wasn't putting on a concert. I don't have a stage in my living room. I actually wasn't allowed to move because we had one stationary camera.
wow this is awesome. nice work dude

The bicomp is a clone of the Ross, just easier to obtain and with an orange squeezer replica built into the same box.
