@diveorgohome These will be around $250USD. I've pre-sold a number of them which I'm drip feeding out between my fixed blade orders. When I finish those, I'll look at offering the others for sale in a video.
@canadianfortruth My Original design is the ability to lock the blade open. see my original video 1 year ago.. the option is there on these blades for anyone that wants the tang hole exposed in the handles. Not for holding it closed.
Very nice. Is it thicker than a multitool? Because it might fit in one of those nite ize multitool neoprene pouches or holsters. And they can be had for around $6-11
What about that locking mechanism you thought of. The hole in the handle and the pin to "turn" it into a fixed blade. Would that be too much work or would it just end up costing to much? I thought that was a great idea.
@SpartanJohns the option is possible, but im only doing it by request as most people dont need the feature and are concerned UK may argue its a lock :)
anyone can easily dismantle and drill the holes through the guide hole
FRAK ME!!!....Almost blew my eardrums out at the start....lol
What are you filming with? cos the audio was booming out the right speaker and the left was fine...for a while...then it started to swing between the two sides, back and forth and then back to the right speaker. Maybe it wouldnt be so bad if I wasnt using headphones. But I have to for the neighbours sake.
Anyway.
You know what I liked most about this video, your fingers. I can see that you now have working hands. :-)
@RDPproject lol.. I always have working hands.. but I heal very fast. blisters last a couple of days or more. most of that is from cooking my fingers on hot grinds and water.. lol
@thelockkk Thanks.. and thats ok.. they are not liners.. they are the handle.. :D its the outside micarta that is the decorative facade. Many people will also say that the blade at 3/16" is too thick as well as the liners.. its just a preference and personal choice thing. I want this to be overbuilt and robust feeling and looking.
@thelockkk Sorry dude.. I'm just lauging inside at your fair comment because it makes me think of someone looking at a 100% titanium folder and saying "the liners are too thick" like a sebenza with a thin inlay on top :)
The sabenza is a locking folder, you need all that for the locking mechanism. I think of your knife as a light use folder and all that is too much in my opinion. But, well said, it is personal preference!
@thelockkk Ahh.. well there is the discrepancy.. I see this as an outdoor bushcraft knife for the UK where there will be tremendous amounts of side loading from carving which is where all those thin liners weaken and fail. the purpose of the 3mm liners is to support all the pivots against lateral stress so that the knife wont fail after a year in the woods. its not abusive use.. but it is hard on folders.
Thats one solid looking bit of gear. I was amazed at just how much is involved in getting a friction folder to work correctly. Good on you for putting out there both the good and the bad of it. Enjoyed the vid, cheers Kyley.
@kchee1111 You are welcome. I can honestly say that the action is still better than most folders I have.. its just not as good as it was supposed to be :D if the washers wear out then blade play will develop.. wont effect performance, but will just be annoying.. the others may be fine.. I have to wait until I make each one and see.
@cam131313cam There is a definitive heavier feel to the stainless over the titanium in hand (just holding the scales) but in reality maybe 20grams.. I'll weigh a set and let you know the difference in weight later.
@TheBrowningmaxus8833 haven't decided, but based on the workload, and extra costs involved over a fixed blade its probably going to run around $250USD
@knivesandstuff 250 dollars is not a bad price at all...I woulda gladly twice that...GREAT looking knife...thats a great deal you got...great work man!!!
...uhh....absolute fantastic work.....i love this knife!
Thanks for showing!
