  • Realmente conmovedor."Alfredo: Un dì, felice, eterea, Mi balenaste innante, E da quel dì tremante Vissi d'ignoto amor. Di quell'amor ch'è palpito ... Dell'universo, Dell'universo intero, Misterioso, altero, Croce e delizia cor. Misterioso, Misterioso altero, Croce e delizia al cor.
  • I love how everything that they say takes 10 mins, even though they are really saying hello. Bravo Bravo

  • Amazingly Brilliant, Moving, Beautiful...both of them!!

  • I HATE MUSIC 151

  • @DaSOCIAList me tooo!!!!

  • My favourite version!

  • Placido doing what he does: he's the best male alive...in me opinion

  • i can't belive that i stay with placido domingo in person was increible

  • Because of Domingo's Alfredo, I find myself having a very hard time finding a man I can love. Mainly because I am so darn in love with HIM. ;] This is probably my favorite recorded performance of this opera. Of course, nothing beats seeing it live. <3

  • Which domingo ? Flacido Domingo ? ;-) IS it really what you're after :)))

  • Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!

  • Domingo's portail of this charater is so believable.

  • When I watched this movie for the first time I cried my eyes out and fell in love with Placido Domingo's young days (Alfredo is still my favourite name)!

  • I love them both. They bring me to tears everytime.

  • I have never seen such mouving filmed opera as this. I saw it, when I was sixteen and I was so touched! Stratas isn't very very beautiful, but she has an excellent talent as actrice and for emotional expression. Her delicate attitudes fits well th role of la Traviata,

Historical reality is very good, too, and make us to feel l'atomospher of Franc in the first half of the 19th Century. It's gorgeous!

  • See also the very beautiful Salome (Richard Strauss) film of Götz Friedrich. Conductor Karl Böhm. With Stratas as Salome and Astrid Varnay as Herodias and Bernd Weikl as Jochanaan. (also on DGG)

  • Sehr Gut !

  • Questo film mi fa piangere ogni volta...

(This film makes me cry every time! Very well played.)

    Bellissimo!

  • uhmm! certo ma lo sguardo di domingo non mi sembre completamente sincero ;)

preferisco sentire e imaginare la scena personalmente

  • Awesome

  • Undoubtedly one of the best film adaptations to an opera. If people don't like it, they are not breathing. Beautifully filmed and powerfully presented, I saw it more then once in 1983. Reminded me of the AIDS scare at the top of most everyone's mind at the time.

  • Thank you, I went to see this movie in London when it first came out and was amazed when the audience stood and clapped at the end. I purchased the LP but have sadly lost it. I think I would like to buy the video if I can find it. Funny how Stratas is not so famous - I wonder why, what a voice!

  • I got the movie DVD at my library in Croydon, Victoria, Australia.I love it.

  • very very nice.. nice to see it as a movie and not a stage performance.. looks more stunning

  • wow.. Domingo looks so gorgeous here!! hahaha

  • Totally gorgeous.....love the way he looks in Carmen also...(te Rosi movie)

  • It's so beautiful...

  • Thank you You enormous for this video! As beautifully! What beautiful duo! What voice! Stratas splendid. Domingo I in general adore. He - a genius tenor, actor and simply splendid man!!! Once again thank you!!!
