Great lesson, but the app and cost are not. You can get a whole years subscription to guitar world for a couple dollars more then a 6 month lick of the day subscription on your iPhone. The sponsorship revenue should cut the cost down much more then it has. You get a bunch of web content with your magazine subscription as well, that in my opinion is more useful then an iPhone app.
@Saintmikey056 Hey dude enter, it's easy! Just listen to the original riff and do your own rendition on it. Unfortunately you can't be completely original because it has to sound reminiscent to the original riff. I would recommend playing the same riff once and then adding upon that. Also checking out some other videos to see what others have done would help. Especially check out mine and like it if it's good haha! Hope i helped out. Later bro \m/
hello people, I need votes, c'mon now! I need a new guitar, cant you see im playing a maple leaf with a wammy bar! you dont get chicks with a leaf! lol
donadleejr just click on the comment area and to the right of the comment area outside a create a video response will light up then click on that if you don't have a video on youtube then you have to go to youtube broadcast yourself and follow the insructions it's easy i have 40+videos up right now make sure the volume on your recording is loud so people can hear it properly scott
Hey guys can you please do me a favor and like my video which i entered in the new contest thanks.
my video is called: Riff of the day contest Blues/Metal guitar KH 202 Kirk Hammet Metallica
and like it (if it's good). I would be so fucking grateful thanks! Later. Peace. I'll give you a virtual dougnut or something haha. :) He says G-String at 1:31 so if that makes you laugh please like my video!
Guitar World, Is the exact guitar in this video that Paul is playing made in China or Indonesia? I have heard that Epiphone is producing these guitars in two different countries and was wondering where the one Paul plays in this video comes from. From what I have heard, the difference between the guitars from these two different countries is the bridge pickup placement. Thank you!
@TM171615 Yea the bridge pick up on the ones made in China are a lil high. I've heard the ones from Indonesia aren't as routed out in the body. Mine's made in China. The other issue is the strings lining up with the pole pieces.
There's no doubt that companies like Gibson or Fender or PRS have the brand name built into the price, but I've been on a tour of Gibson's Nashville location where they make guitars, and man... the amount of detail that go into the guitars is unreal. Hand built, hand painted... crazy detail. I agree that you have to find the guitar thats right for you, but quality is quality. I like not having to worry about my guitar when I'm playing it, and that comes from quality.
kind of a dull riff but I guess this is targeted towards beginners... but regardless.. FINALLYa real les paul! .. coil taps are amazing and floyd rose are love or hate.
ANY guitar with the same wood, pickups to whatever can sound like a les paul, gibson or epiphone are just brands sprayed on... so which is to say an LTD or even some no name guitars can get that sound.. music comes from our hearts mind and fingers never brand.
@JYZProductions Well I have one of these. Being a musician that isn't making millions of dollars, I can't afford a Gibson. And there is a difference. Not to mention the pickups in this thing suck. If you can get it to stay in tune after doing a dive, well good luck with that. I"m a Kahler guy, and a top mounted floater would have preserved the real LP tone. This guitar is heavily routed for the springs. I put a Screamin Demon in mine. Got the Desert Burst which looks cool, but don't be fooled!
@danachonda do this to help your tuning. next time you change strings, get a cue-tip and put some chapstick on it. apply the chapstick to the knife edges and knife posts of the tremolo (you might want to also use the other end to get off any other caked on bullshit that might be on there, as that can effect tuning stability as well, then apply the chapstick)
but clean, lubricated knife edges are the most important factor in a Floyd's tuning stability. i hope this can help a little.
@danachonda always good to see another Dokken fan , hows the screaming demon pickup? yeah they use different woods, the 2011 Gibson models are all perfectly intonated and fretted with machines now but besides that its just different woods and pickups so its all a matter of taste for those new and old to guitars who hear differences.,
which kind of Kahler you get a 2200 or 2300... or a hybrid?
@JYZProductions I have a Kahler on an old 85, or 87 Carvin that has an ML stlye body. Solid guitar with a floating trem. The Floyd on my Epi Pro/fx has the body routed all to hell, and doen't go back in place after dives. But the Demon pick up makes up for alot of what the guitar lacks. Most people down Epi's. But with the right pickup, if the fret board is good can make it just as good as a Gibson. I have a 81 Gibson Custom LP with a Dimebucker in it and that is a monster guitar!
@danachonda I'm jealous of the Les Paul mostly because I can imagine the craftsmanship of it is far superior to anything I can imagine Gibson puts out today, even though their using that new mechanized technique Pauls mentioned.. the carvin sounds very nice too as I do know my gear.
Yeah this custom epiphone special I bought month ago for a quick sale I was surprised once I set it up properly with custom pickups and after I scalloped it, it can hold its own ground with the right person using it
@JYZProductions I got a 2005 Custom Epi a while back that I traded a Razorback V for. Stock pickups actually sound good. And seeing as I do have the Gibson 81, with the Dimebucker. This piece I got is beautifull, and kicks ass!!
@JYZProductions yeah, agreed. though, brand can make a difference in quality control. an indonesian copy of a Les Paul for a 10th of the price is obviously not going to have the same attention to detail on the fretboard, neck, and control surfaces/electronics as a true Les Paul where you pay to have it checked thoroughly.
though i have heard an alarming amount of crazy defects on Gibsons recently. especially having to do with the fretboard. makes me wonder sometimes.
@TheMetalHeaD256 yeah my friends gibson custom les paul .. one of those alpine ones or whatever his grandmother paid over 1000$ for it and the neck was messed up on it. every company is bound to make an odd guitar that isn't perfect.
what it comes down to is an American luthier will charge a lot more to make a perfect guitar than a Japanese or Indonesian luthier, minimum wage and all this comes into play. A true american guitar I'm going with DBZ though.. or go north for a guerilla guitar.
sorry paul almost enjoy all of your videos but if you wan't to make some comercial for this guitar you don't have play a crappy lick thats 100% on the timing... thats sounds boring and uncreative...
i bet no one would really like to play this just for fun
@MyMetallica16 nope, unless you have a digitech whammy pedal maybe...
