That's wrong... it's the other way round: LEDs generate very little heat because they need less power.

This is demonstration, if you are working towards LEED it's not advisable to group this many LEDs for lighting affects. I would guess it's still about 40% more efficient than producing the same results with traditional lighting. This is a conservative number, could be up around 60 - 80% but we don't have the specifications to produce a case.
