I love the comment she made, "why did you have to shoot him? All he had was a knife", last time I checked a knife was a deadly weapon, and he threw it at the officer if you bother to watch the video.

@rakshan BART needs it's own police department because it encompasses several different jurisdictions, it would be a headache to get them all on board in terms of policy, radio codes etc. Also BART police go to the exact same California POST academy as any other California peace officer.

I dont see why BART needs to hire its own mercenary police force. BART is a govt organization. If they need policing, use SFPD or local police from the 9 districts that BART runs through. Fire these cops, pay SFPD for policing when you need it. Let SFPD hire them and train them in proper use of guns and tasers. I frankly am not comfortable with mercenary contracted people with guns running around in my public places.
