Del Monte switching will be back to UP's responsibility starting this summer. The way the agreement between the railroads work is, BNSF operates it for a full year starting in June or July(I cant remember) then UP operates it for a full year. BNSF had it second half 07 and first half 08, so coming up here soon UP will be taking over.
that's nothing. On Conrail I had a power move, 4 SD80MACs, 3 C40-8Ws, 5 SD50s and SD60s and a GP40-2, and two empty tank cars. Only locomotive doing the work was the lead GP40-2....
It's always fun to see the locomotive(s) in the middle of a train.

On one of my videos, there is a lot of Norfolk Southern power, for one little train. It really isn't a lot of footage (if you know what I mean)
jmano33 4 years ago
That must be really rare. I saw a light power move like that here in Folkston with 5 BNSF SD40-2s, and Feromex GEVOs.
conrailquality17 4 years ago
NS does that kind of power on their locals too! sometimes a NS dash 9-,sd40-2,dash 8-32BW,or a NS high-hood GP50-with a-high-hood SD40-2

Nothing odd about this, I did a movement like that today switching out a industry in Milan, Mi.

that's nothin. try three dash-9s with a 5 car train. that's a normal occurrence on some NS branch lines in central new york.

JR7582 4 years ago
Yeah, its nice to see classic power like that once in a while.
ic6071 4 years ago
