  • OK, SO THE SPECIAL ELECTRIC CHARGE ADAPTER IS LIKE 2500$. IT ONLY WORKS AT HOME SO MUST BE REPLACED WITH EVERY HOUSE MOVE. THE BATTERY IS LIKE 9000$ ? AND MUST BE REPLACED EVERY 7 YEARS? EXTERNALITIES TRADE OFF SUGGEST YOUR ARE PAYING AN EXTRA 20,000$ GRAND TO SAVE ON GAS? THIS IS THE BIGGEST RUBE GOLDBERG DEVICE EVER MADE. =EPIC FAIL.

  • Grant is the sexiest name ever.

  • We have tested the Volt, Prius and Isight in Malaysia. the Volt Averaged 288MPG in KL city... Prisu was 2nd and Insight last. this car is a marvel.

  • the unknown factor seems to be the battery maintainance costs

  • so much better than the prius and leaf!!!

  • After waiting a year I finally got my volt and love it.

  • Sooooo this is basically the next step in hybrids...this was anticipated why? It is only logical this would happen...Where as now Nissan has the advantage by being able to completely focus on improving electric only cars..

  • id rather take that ford escape hybrid taxi :P

  • @Sawink You Stupid Freak idiot! Your Supporting Foreign oil and foreign economys! People need to start supporting this economy you idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @speedyboi94 This economy needs to drill its own oil..Kinda simple..you want us to buy our oil, well get our own oil and we will buy it.

  • @pdavid24 We cant drill our way out of foreign oil. Plus, just from a fuel cost stand point this car makes oil compete with other fuels, which are substantially cheaper. Right now the fuel savings are ate up by the high cost of the car, but hat will change in the future. The price tag will be lower, the fuel cost will be lower and the acceleration will be much faster than today's combustion engines. In the near future, every electric car will do 0-60 in 4-5 seconds, this will change minds.

  • @Swink You freak idiot It's called not buying foreign oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Even considering the "other costs" of an EV, it's still a difference of 5 cents a mile on gas, or 1 cent a mile on coal. (most of Americas electricity is coal produced). Gas is still 5 times more expensive, and America has 70% of the worlds coal, so the power is local, not imported.

  • @SGTRandyB where did you get this info??? I need some references.

  • i really did not know that about liquid paper. thanks real world test drives

  • i really did not know that liquid paper. thanks real world test drives

  • You would think a corporate shill or puppet would know more about the competition. THE ENTIRE SELLING POINT OF THIS CAR, IS THAT YOU MAY NEVER HAVE TO PUT A DROP OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR!

  • It’s not an environment saver (they don't talk about the pollution and hazardous chemicals that it takes to produce these cars and their BATTERIES!) It is all about saving their company, saving money for the consumer, letting the lazy fat man and woman ( I won't say American because I am one and it's United States of America citizen) plug in their car (like a TV) or cell phone and think they are sticking it to big oil.

  • I guess no mention of the electric cost, battery life or how that electric is being produced. All in all it is a huge leap forward for a once dying company. Finally the USA was forced to produce something decent. The Leaf is an ugly impractical joke compared to this. With all those computers and digital inner workings... I wonder how long until the electronics fail?

  • Electricity should not cost much nowadays. The future will see even lower costs because we have discovered a new way to create electricity. Contact your local Electric Company and tell them you want to opt for Nano-Watt Technology. Battery Life depends on the make of the Battery and how much you use it. In an electric car, the battery will tend to last between 5-10 years before you may need to change it. Electric cars are being produced at an alarming rate by using Salt to make the battery.

  • This is one of my favorite cars!

  • Yes, I know, but it got too difficult to explain so I just bottom-lined it that electricity always propels the vehicle. --Grant.

  • The engine actually directly assists the motor at highway speeds. This only adds to the efficiency however.

  • I hate all hybrids and electric cars but only watched this video because realworldtestdrives was reviewing it. However after watching this i think the Volt is a brilliant idea although its not for me

  • Why do you hate all Hybrids and Electric cars?
