In my humble opinion, I found the difficulty of this game unbalanced. There were races in which I blast by the opponents with little to no effort, and there were a lot of races in which I just couldn't keep up with the computer. I also agree on the announcers. I have always hated them, and I never knew why Namco (or rather, Namco Bandai now) continues to use them in Ridge Racer games.
The general flaw in the Ridge racer games 7 and 6 are the FREAKING ANNOYING ANNOUNCERS, and the sutpid car graphic changes. I mean some cars have no resemblance whatsoever.
Damn right! Amazing soundtrack, perfect gameplay, and a charming story mode. Guess we'll never see RR return to it's former glory because they only ever release them during the launch of consoles so they get dated very quickly.
As an avid Ridge Racer fan, (I own every game in the series) I have to completely agree. Ridge Racer 64 comes close, but in the end, R4 is hands down, the greatest.
