  • Haydn was one of those transitional musicians. Although much of his music does reflect the classical style he help to create, the remnants of polyphony are very evident in his early works. But Bach? Bach was the master that made all of this music possible.

  • lindo

  • The major flaw with these Pinnock recordings is that the orchestra dominates the harpsichord, which is far too soft and unassertive.

  • @polymath7 the attack on the harspichord is very great and thus it evens the harsh notes to create a symphony of Backenator's melody.

blah blah who cares.... just listen!

  • Sorry I clicked dislike by mistake. How can I recover?

  • @EricTheRed03 If you click dislike again, then that counts ;P

  • @EricTheRed03 Like, ofc*

  • @EricTheRed03 wow. Only 1 dislike on video and that is made by mistake. I like it !!!

  • bach is a beasttt

  • @wolvie14 I agree with you, Bach is absolutely unique. Nevertheless, Haydn was actually from the Classical period and not Baroque. In fact, Haydn was a good friend of Mozart and when he was born, Baroque was almost finishing =D

  • This gets to me every time . One of these rare occasions when music is so beautiful , it mkes me cry, shivers and tingle with hapiness all at once. Only Bach can do it every time. To those denying he is a genius, listen to Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn... none of these Baroque, as talented as they are, come close to the perfect match of beauty and emotion achieved by Bach.

  • I love this piece, so haunting and so beautiful

  • Eternal...

  • 5***** thank you for uploading this wonderful music...

  • Stirb in mir, Welt und alle deine liebe...

    Hoffart, Reichtum, Augenlust...

  • @TripleMirror I know, such beautiful text.

  • my eyes can't stop crying everytime i hear this piece, the oboe transcription sounds even better.

  • @alayeldin I know. It's hard to believe this is in E major and not minor.

  • @kourosh89 Actually, this is played in its corresponding minor tune: C sharp minor...

  • @sarahbrigh Indeed, as often in Bach's pieces in major key the middle part is in the relative minor key... You can find the opposite too: BWV 1054 is in F minor, but the second part is in A flat major (though it ends on the V of f minor).
