Knew Kilmun St well, but that was a long time ago, Maryhill Harts used to have a football field at the end of kilmun St ? and my old school St Marys was there also, see memories of Maryhill for some old school photo from the 1940s. thx for the posting.
@sixchildren100 They wud have been kids around the late 1940s, early 50s, u can see some of them in school pictures I've posted on U tube, "memories of maryhill" one that comes to mind is Suzan Heron, Alice Quinn was another, it was a long time ago and while I can recall their faces the names elude me, I lived on caldercuilt Rd at that time, any way nice chatting.
@edward0988 Oh i would love to see the pics but the 40's n 50's was long befor me i made my grand entrance into the world in the 60's funny how people and places stick in our minds eh ? This is were Maryhill got her name i found that out of a taxie driver i love history..
@sixchildren100, Mckeown is a fairly common name however at the moment I cant recall an Allen. And yes I did know that it was named after a Mary Hill it seems that the male heir a Geaeme Hill Died so Mary the only one left from that family inherited the very larg estate/lands etc. Maryhill has an interesting and colourfull history and many fond memories for me, Thank u again for ur imput.
