  • in the Bulgarian we have the word too but it's more "old-fashioned"...we use more dinia :)

  • chacha :)

yeah in polish we've got "dynia" which actually means "pumpkin", but "water melon" I don't know why is "arbuz"... I have no idea of the ethymology of this word...

I'm "arbuz" cuz every student from my school is caled that way in my town... it's not very nice :D,

  • hah :) I know we have lots of common words...i have few polish friends and sometimes if we didn't know the word in english we were just saying the words in our language (like "stafida" or "mak" :D:D)

ps: u shouldn't pay attention to stupid nick names at school, only laugh at them! :)

  • yea, I know,

we all know that this is a joke, anyway all of our school's students now that they are the best :P

Yes I know, it's simillar with Croatian, when I was there I'd been talking in english, but there is sometimes hard to find the right word so we also did that, we had lots of laugh :)

  • in Croatian "dinja" means honeydew melon

  • O grate! I'm starting learning Croatian and I'm now a bit overwhelmed but I hope that some day I finally say sth properly.

  • my uncle married a polish girl and after 20 years she still can't pronounce "LJ" :D

  • That's not really consoling , but well I'm just starting so I'm gonna let myself have a little bit of hope, that someday I will.

Well at least I'll try :D

  • well, pronouncing properly sounds that don't exist in your mother tongue is the hardest part in learing foreing languages.

i'm having the same problem with that "L" like sound (as in "Lodz").

    otherwise she speaks perfect Croatian

  • just an FYI: the word means the same thing in Romanian and is pronounced identically, only it's spelled "lubenita". so add Romania to that list of countries.

  • Watermelon haha. And I love how he automatically translates pumpkin into Croatian when he hears it. That part isn't really funny I guess, I don't know why I just liked that.

  • ... wunderbar... :D

  • BUNDEVA not WUNDERBAR. Bundeva it's pumpkin in croatian

  • LOL

  • wait wunderbar is a german word for wonderfull

  • yeah :D

  • Guck auf den Kommentar von

  • ehm...DUH dumb ass...It's almost the same...that's why I'm saying it

  • acctually its NOT THE SAME, that was my point, and lubenica is croatian and slovenian word, sebrs call it tikva
