Sweet Reverse Gibby V dude....Nice little quirky midi action going on! Those guitars play phenominally, and people just love to make fun of it, when its a actually a great guitar...
Kind of interesting, actually. Do different notes trigger different clips or am I just retarded? 'Tis what it sounds like. If that's the case, it seems like the other people commenting are missing the point.
@mattmilnes People asked the same thing when Gibson came out with the original V and the Explorer. Only 22 Explorers were made in 1958, and they fetch up to $300000 when they come on the market. So, maybe give it 50 years. :P
@flchorton You're the second person who posts pokemon videos to comment at how terrible of a guitar player I am, but you can solve a rubik's cube, so I'll give you credit for that.
I don't usually bother to post, but I wanted to give you some cred for doing something different. Most people don't understand it, but that is truly their loss. Go on to help pioneer the future of music =)

The only way you could generate more resistance and hate against your video is if there was a Gibson Dusk Tiger in the background on a stand. Highly approve of this kind of insanity!
You've gotten some shit from people but I don't think they realize that you're actually triggering those samples. Honestly, I think the idea of using the guitar to trigger samples is brilliant and represents the first steps to an absurdly expressive future for live performance.
thank you wakod2002: i seem to be catching a lot of flak for doing something no one knows is now reality with today's technology. i actually kind of revel in the ignorance of some of these comments though, it means I'm relatively left alone as far as competition is concerned. i could pioneer a whole entire new style of guitar-oriented electronic music and the people posting here would still be picking their noses calling it fake. :D
@handen I was kinda weirded out at the beginning i was thinking what was the point of that? But then i got it and it's an incredibly good idea. How did you do that? Can you trigger more samples at the same time (for instance, playing a chord)?
@charrascream You can play as many samples as you have strings, but the tough part would be getting each note to ring long enough for those samples to all play simultaneously. In my Evil 9 video there's a few parts where I'm playing two samples at the same time.
the point is you aren't supposed to hear the strings playing. on a stage the idea would be to trigger samples only, perhaps with an ABY switch to route guitar only/synth only/combination levels to amplifier.
a store in town had it for $1100cdn back in nov 07, one of the original GoTW models before they did the re-issues at like $3000, but i hated the single volume knob in such an awkward place and re-did it with a fender jaguar/jazzmaster roller assembly for volume and tone.
Wow, way to not play guitar...

What midi interface are you using with the GK-3 pickup?
Phonometrics 2 years ago
Handen, this is the best guitar midi controlling on YouTube now.
I understand you're midi pickup is the GK-3, but what MIDI INTERFACE are you running it into.
Are you using the Roland GI-20 to run into the computer? Or perhaps you're running the GK-3 into a GR-20 and then Midi out to your computer?
Please advise!
