hello. can you tell me how tall you are and if you have problems with your knees and the steeringwheel?
i have a miata too, but the original steering wheel is annoying, that i can't practice drive techniques (like heel and toe) and i think i'm going to buy a new one. maybe a drift steeringwheel, because they come a little closer to your torso.
@rxmaster James is about 5'11 I think and he had no issues with the wheel. Fitting an HKB boss and a Nardi steering wheel with a 53mm offset (the 330mm Nardi Deep Corn features 53mm offset, the 350mm version features 80mm offset) means that James could drive comfortably. He had plenty of adjustment left in his seat rail too.
He has now sold the car to another guy who works here who is over 6ft and he has no issues using the same wheel and boss combination. Products available from Driftworks
got to say watched both parts (dont even own an MX5 but have some coilovers to fit) and found them very good and highly informative.
no cliches, no patronising or policital correctness BS, just professional solid advice. well filmed and the background music wasnt intrusive or off putting either. top marks lads, hope to watch your other vids.
did you have to have the steering / suspension geometry reset after you fitted new springs. if so did you do it yourself or take it for laser alignment , the reason i ask is i am about to do mine but don't have the knowledge to set up wheel alignment. thanks
@foxy1960 Normally when I have lowered cars before it puts everything out, but when I slammed my mx5 on coilovers it drives exactly the same. Doesn't pull and the tyres aren't worn even after 1k miles. I will be getting it tracked soon just to make sure though.
@TheMctwist174 I dont think so. Im pretty sure he just rotated the shock and spring assembly while the pillowball mount and bottom shock mount stayed put so the bottom mount threaded up extending ride height. (Sorry if i didnt explain it well. Im kinda bad with words)
the best settings all depends on what type of driver you are. no one can tell what the best setting for your suspension is. you just gotta play around with it until you feel like it's right for your driving style
Does it get any lower?

At 3:42 when the ride height was raised, did that have an effect on the spring pre-load ?
