O&A is far funnier than stern's show nowadays, but the fact of the matter is that O&A had over a year head start on satelite and Howard just squashed them like they weren't even there (Stern garner's about 2 million listeners as O&A have about 220,000) and the reason why xm had more subscribers at this time was because of their headstart....some of the O&A math going on, they are capable of bullshit as well. Leaving out minor details.

@wattlets Baseball is widely considered to be more of a radio sport than football. The reason you'd rather listen to football on the radio is probably because you don't enjoy baseball. Baseball is a much easier sport to follow on the radio. Football is MUCH more of a television sport.

At the end of 06 Sirius reported 6.02 million subscribers while XM had 7.7-7.9 million even thought they had a few year head start. I like listening to O&A rip on Stern (even though I'm a Stern fan) but theyre mostly wrong about stuff. I used to listen to them on WAAF in the 90s but got bored quick. Like it or not there is a reason Sirius bought XM and not the other way around.

Both of the companies will disappear in the next decade or so. From what I hear 100s of thousands subscribers ended their service in 09 alone.

Really, Slacker Radio and other internet radio services are way more convenient than satellite. Only thing they haven't figured out how to do yet is talk radio.

@polarbearblunt Sirius acquired 53% of the controlling shares to XM's 47%. Hardly "buying them out". The merger was needed by BOTH companies. Sirius was hemmoraging money, which is why their stock was, like, a dollar at the time. They had to keep pushing out more stock to sell to get more money. XM was at $13 a share because they didn't need to print as much stock. Read up on the deal, people were surprised that Sirius would be "buying" XM.

Well he doesn't need to address them. He's only got 4 1/2 hours to do his show, there are more important things to talk about. I've never see them on Letterman bringing the place down. I've seen Howard do that 20 or 30 times. I like anyone who makes me laugh, I don't give a shit about rivalries or what bad thing someone did to someone 20 years ago. I've searched and searched and concluded that Stern is the best at making me laugh, therefore I like the guy.
