Think F1 - but all the cars are identical,; there are no 'teams', instead, as you can see in the vid, each country represents itself.

I think A1 was started by some Arab prince - if you WIKI it I'm sure you could find a history.

Yes, but look at it this way: there was a time, in the late nineties/early noughties, where 4 of the best drivers in the world were German. In A1, three of these would not have been allowed to compete, wheras some Indonesian driver nobody has ever heard of is waved through. Hardly fair.
