This collapse was largely caused by the failure of fasteners & concrete on a single steel truss over a concentrated oxygen rich fire, no fireproofing/sprinklers. The steel beams remained structurally sound and will be reused w/ some straightening. So while nobody doubts steel warps and loses structural strength in high temp or that steel can melt by fire (depends on temp), its seems unfair to imply this collapse reflects the collapse of the WTC towers. FYI Gasoline burns hotter than jet fuel.
