I disagree that you think history is not known in India. Maybe only a certain topics are more known through cinemas but the history is quite spread between people. I say this because, my dad keeps telling us stories about history sometimes and when my grandfather was alive, he used to tell us stories about India. Growing up we were told about the portugese and the french rule in the country.
