  • 1:21 It's a giant flying dick!!!

  • @dalittleman001 You pervert! That's the top-view silhouette of the orbital vessel!

  • @dalittleman001 Oh yeah, real mature. 7 people get killed and you think it's a joke. Grow up.

  • @dalittleman001 I hope you go fuck yourself you cunt.

  • @HypercaneKyle I already have...

  • The music is a little creepy, sorry.

  • @AK74inCali Pink Floyd's not creepy

  • note to self. if NASA uses Hefty, than thats all i'll buy!

  • i know it's a serious video. but can anyone please tell me what's the song's name??

  • @a0075402001 wish you were here by pink floyd its under the like and dislike gauge

  • 4:10 how that plane fly with no propeller spin ?????? they gonna crash too !!!!!!

  • all of nasa are heros and im sure if the crew knew that there lives ment the end to our maned space flights they would have wanted it to continue. its a sad time to see all this come to a end. yes its dangerous but i would gladly give my life to continue to beter mankind.

  • 5:26 what is in that bag?

    >.<

  • @dreaminvasion do you really want to know? me neither...

  • The fire must have been intense 1:31 for only the sole of the boot to be left.

  • @poodtang1 The sole is not from their boots but an EMU or space walking suit.

  • The Thumbnail for this is Beautiful

  • If they would cut the defense department's budget by 5%, that money would double NASA's budget.

  • it really doesnt matter if the bodies were all found or if all the pieces of the shuttle were found. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED IN THE 1ST PLACE. This was an accident that could have been avoided. May God bless the families and may the 7 that were killed R.I.P.

  • This was never a fucking world tragedy......It was only an American one.

  • @TOLTECAAZTECA Space exploration is a world-wide effort, any loss is felt by all people who are passionate about it. It was a tragedy on so many levels...

  • Comment removed

  • all the bodies were not recovered they were disentegrated into matter in thin air u actually think the bodies could have been recovered after a terrible accident like that even parts of the ship wasnt recovered more lease bodies GOD BLESS THERE SOULS

  • @jessiemtz432 All bodies were recovered. 80,000 pieces of the orbiter were recovered. Some big, some small, some metal and some paper. Its well documented 8 year old information.

  • @jessiemtz432 Moron....my friend was on the Seal team that was sent from NAS Oceania (Norfolk) to do the diving and recover the bodies from the cockpit module that survived the blast.

  • @Swordsfor200Alex The crew module did not survive the breakup and did not land in the water. Much of nothing was found in the lake. The bodies were recovered on land.

  • @aimhigh59 My bad....I was talking about Challenger. Thanks for pointing that out. I was watching Challenger video's and switched over to this one and forgot it was Columbia. I lived in Dallas when that happened so, yea, I know not much survived the re-entry when it started to break up.

  • its sad but at 1:22 its funny

  • @xKILLERxist lol killerxist you no who i am

  • @xKILLERxist lol!!When I saw your message and I think "is there something wrong?" till i saw that ......

  • No body cares that Bruce Willace lost is life saving the world

  • the band Rush wrote a song about Columbias maiden flight and a video it's on youtube its called Countdown check it out Rush Countdown.......Nasa invited them to watch the launch live.

  • i dont get why everybody says its "so sad" like its the saddest day.

bus accidents, bombs, drunk driving etc kill more than 7 people everyday.

actually, LESS people died that day

plus HAHAHAHA THEY DIED IM A FUCKING FREAK NARCASSIST SADIST WHO LOVES HATE AND DARKNESS HAHA THE WIDOWS LOST A HUSBAND THAT COULD'VE BEEN A HERO

omg i mfucking filth..a freak..im killing myself, im a fucking pathetic loser for expecting sympathy...my loser depression is not an excuse to mock the dead.

    I HATE MYSELF

  • @ZRANCIS No one cares...

  • Who are these morons who think that the USA DoD's Budget is ok but give NASA left over change, ok??

  • God Bless those lost on Columbia and Challenger.

  • Maybe if you placed Pink Floyd in the tags to honor the band as well as this sad moment you might get more viewers.

  • It sucks but...these guys know the risks. they probably dont mind losing their life for some hope in future space exploration. RIP

  • @MusicalDarkHorse One of the more knowledgeable posts for this video. +1.

  • test

  • @datzfast he doest mean that the NASA is expensive

He means tht all the waste money used in war have been use On NASA Experiments because the small amount of money given

Think twice before putting useless comments

  • i did quite working, i call it retirement to savings at age 51. i also have a younger wife and a 4 year old son. i surf the web for fun and i do have fun. NASA is going bye bye. im going to see to that. with any luck at all i might even become your US senator.

  • @datzfast Hopefully, by the time you make the Senate you have alittle better command of the English Language.

  • @AphexxTwin not a requiremnet in fact you dont even need a birth certificate, no one checks.

  • I stood there outside the classroom surrounded by the serial killers, rapists and cannibal killers watching it on TV thinking "well, what do you know, I'm NOT the one, and what a shitty pilot" then George ordered more pancakes.

Coming up after this: Ssssssave my sssssssisterrrr............ sorta, by City and Colour.

    Sorta...

  • Happy new year!

  • that happens when you send women to space

  • pilotcoolbiz, Only us pilots understand, what others see as a waste of time might be important to us for reasons they will never know. And that's OK. It takes a special kind of people to take the risks aviators and astronauts alike take every day. But remember people , without risk there is no reward....

  • It amazes me everyday, how the USA can spend Billions on useless wars but gives NASA a small budget .

  • @indyfan22k surely we should fix the problems on our own planet rather than be looking for new places to go and cause problems :/

  • @indyfan22k it amases me that for a measly few billion we could retire at age 62 but they increase it to 67 so nasa can play in space.so fuck off

  • @datzfast If you are so desperate to not be working as to deprive all of civilization of progress you could just shoot yourself - everyone would be happier. You wouldn't have to work, and the rest of us could go on pushing for bigger achievements with one less leech on our backs. If suicide isn't your thing, you could just quit working. Sure there'd be a little less tax money going around, but at least you would be content and shut up. Now go elsewhere and let us honor more important lives.

  • @datzfast Indyfan22k made a very good point. Why spend money and resources on senseless violence and hostility? Like the hostility you showed indyfan22k.

  • @indyfan22k, i will totally agree with this comment, but it wasnt the low budget that killed the astronauts, it was poor management that did. Much like Challenger, nobody seemed to talk to each other. My biggest issue was that it was requested Hubble be turned to look at the shuttle, or spy satalites be used, but the idea was shot down by the decision of ONE PERSON?

  • @indyfan22k I know, I hate that.

  • @indyfan22k I just replied to datzfast's hostile comment. I agree with you about the senselessness of war.

  • @indyfan22k theres oil in the middle east buddy, dont you ever forget

  • @indyfan22k The money on wars is to save the country(s) and nobody needs to go into space at the moment

  • @indyfan22k thats because there is no profit in spaceflight, but assloads of profit in bombing the crap out of innocent people. It is my view that all wars are crimes.

  • @indyfan22k well thats because NASA does not have the responsibility of the protection of 300,000,00 lives to take into consideration everyday

  • @xManjaro No but they can do something better and get us to start colonizing on other planets.

  • @indyfan22k i comepletely agree with you. and with obama discontinuing the space launch program i dont know if i willl ever be an astronaut............

  • @indyfan22k OK let's think this through. Defense or space? Both are very important, but I choose defense. We have to be able to defend our own nation before we can explore space.

  • @kidbokidbo1 threat of invation? or global annihilation (asteroids)?

  • @kidbokidbo1 threat of invasion? or global annihilation (asteroids)?

  • @kidbokidbo1

Compare the Numbers it simply mindblowing. Department of Defense funding = Walmart NASA= local gift shop owned by Grandma

  • @indyfan22k We work our asses off out there to keep you ungrateful people safe. Show some god damn respect.

  • @iamenjoi

ungrateful ?? come on. Be Serious. You military folks are treated like heroes no matter what your branch of military, rank, job, or actions you can go to any state in the Union find people who thank you and respect you.

The Military deployments, Battles, and Wars do NOT Keep us Safe. Why kick a hornets nest ? The Hornets weren't bothering anyone. But now that you kicked the kicked the hornets nest they are angrier.

  • @indyfan22k That is why Vietnam veterans came home to be spat on. You disgust me. We are not in charge, we do not make the decisions. We follow orders because that is what good soldiers do. We live to protect people like you. How about you go out there, and stand in their shoes. We risk our lives for our country, and what do we get? Disrespect. Get out of this country if you can not appreciate that.

  • @iamenjoi Oh and just so you know. Hero's are the few who get the Medal of honor, usually posthumously. Hero's 99.9% of the time come home in a coffin. You suffer the same over use of the word as the media and the rest of the political douche bags trying to get traction from the suffering and lose of others. The rest of us were and are just doing our duty. We were called or inducted and did the job asked of us. In the end, someone must serve, if not you, then someone else.

  • @GunBroker100 I would rather it be me than someone else. I live to serve, and if I must come home in a coffin, so be it. As long as my family, and my friends are safe.

  • @iamenjoi My Bad,,,, Clicked the wrong spot to respond. That should have been a continuation of the post to Indyfan. My apologies.

  • @indyfan22k Ahh, the confidence of youth. 27 years old and knows everything, how wonderful for you. I was that age,,,, once. I was in Vietnam on my 27th birthday. I had already figured out I didn't know it all. Hero's? Really? Then why was I spit on and called vile names when I came home? The hornets kicked first. Remember the Cole, The Marine barracks, the Embassy bombings, both Trade center bombings? Perhaps you'll be standing at the next bomb sight. Hero's,, Your the punch line of a bad joke

  • @iamenjoi

ungrateful ?? come on. Be Serious. You military folks are treated like heroes no matter what your branch of military, rank, job, or actions you can go to any state in the Union find people who thank you and respect you.

  • @indyfan22k Completely agree with you

  • @indyfan22k and now we're cancelling the james webb space telescope...

go figure. need an average person in a political seat but that won't happen without major bloodshed.

  • @indyfan22k Wait what? NASA had a black budget sir. Black=whatever they need.

  • @indyfan22k Because Nasa sucks...

  • @indyfan22k weve been on the Moon what else is their to do?

go up every year and Bring back Rocks?

Theirs no point to it anymore

  • @indyfan22k so put money in 2 useless things ?

  • 1:26 What is that? a sole?

  • @hootowl2112 --- you're an idiot.

  • AN-2 plane?!

  • whats wierd about this is like when i was 5 i had a dream that a space shuttle crashed over the skys of texas and then a few days later space shuttle columbia did exactly that

  • They need to cancel the space program once and for all. Billions have been spent on the shuttle program. For what? I doubt anyone can name anything tangible that has come from it. Space programs give the country international prestige -- until an accident happens. What a waste of money

  • @veryslyfox techtran.msfc.nasa.gov/at_home.html a website that explains a whole host of benefits and new tech that has come about as a result of the space program Im sure even a simpleton like you can follow.

  • @pkryderuk1 You're either very gullible or simply have downs syndrome. That list was written by Nasa for chrissake. If a tobacco company had a list of good things that came from from tobacco, would you believe that list too?? Wow you're dumb!

  • @veryslyfox <-----------------------------------TROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DONT FEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • all very sad

  • dazzling

  • Michael Moore makes a cameo at 2:00.

  • What airplane is that at 2:53? It is a biplane but it has a modern interrior.

  • @drav1dan : Got it. At 4:28 it is a Soviet/Russian built An-2.

  • People make these stupid videos just so they can put stupid music on them.

  • Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd!

  • what song is that??

  • Shreveport. Thats where i am from. I remember this tragic day.

  • did they find bodys,or did the bodys disinagrate

  • @Simo4404

Not sure which one it was but they did recover the flight cabin...Must have been horrific :(

  • @shammon1 The crew module was not recovered as a whole but as pieces just like the rest of the orbiter. About 40% of the cabin was recovered.

  • @Simo4404 The bodies of the crew, were not recovered. They bodies were probably, as they shuttle reenter the atmosphere, the shuttle tore apart rather quickly and some of the crew were probably suck out from their seat and sucked out into space. If not that then they were pretty much burn to crisp in reentire.

  • @HalfBritishBoy All bodies were recovered. All the crew came out of the crew module. All bodies were returned to their families.

  • @aimhigh59 Well with the way she came down you would of thought they wouldve be burnt and/or sucked from the module.

  • @HalfBritishBoy Absolutely right. The bodies were burned. They were not sucked out though. Not enough differential pressure at that heigth. The crew module kind of peeled like an onion before breaking up completely. Not much man made can survive that trauma. Once the seat belts and the seats themselves failed, they were mixed in with everything else.

  • @aimhigh59 I remember something happened to the bodies i just didnt remember what it was though.

  • @aimhigh59 :| Thats good but I'd cry to see that.

  • @aimhigh59 They didn't get incinerated from the blast?

  • @shadowhunter388 Columbia did not blow up but structurally failed during re-entry.

  • @aimhigh59 the bodies disintegrated with the shuttle during re-entry.. theres no way the bodies were recovered.. its literally impossible..

  • @eastsidelife4ever36 Its not impossible. 80,000 pieces came back that were recovered. Some were pretty big ! 8000 of those were pieces from the crew module including what was left of their bodies. One item particulary interesting was a 500 sheet ream of paper for the orbiter printer that came back so pristine, you could use it again for another mission. You would not be saying its impossible if you were part of the investigation that took place.

  • @aimhigh59 my best friends dad is a scientist that works with nasa.. he might not be on an investigation team but he knows whats goin on.. he was the one who told me this.. i wouldnt have known otherwise cuz i have no knowledge of the space program.. and if u have something that has to do with the nasa space program then i might me wrong.. im just sayn i would think the bodies would have disintegrated but maybe im wrong..

  • @eastsidelife4ever36 Your wrong. Your dads friend is wrong. I spent 2 years on the investigation of just the crew module.

  • @aimhigh59 i also read ur comments on the video of the challenger explosion.. u were explaining to some guy the reason the challenger exploded was becuz one of the boosters burnt something.. didnt the challenger blow up becuz of an o-ring failure?

  • @eastsidelife4ever36 This info is well documented. The cold o-rings did not seal a poorly designed joint between 2 SRB segments. The SRB usually sends the fire out of the nozzle. The failing seal gave the burning solid fuel inside another path to get out. It was like a blow torch. The torch burnt threw the strut holding the SRB to the ET tank. The SRB pivoted into the tank. The rest is history.

  • @aimhigh59 oh well u convinced me.. from the way u talk u probably work in the space program and i wont argue anymore.. but see i dont know really what im talking about but i just said what i thought happened..

  • @aimhigh59 how could that be? you would think they would have been incinerated...

  • @dreaminvasion Well, they went thru hell but did not disinegrate.

  • @aimhigh59 they found the bodies after that nasty explosion?

  • @aimhigh59 Nothing exploded. The orbiter broke apart structurally. Forget about the comment made above by Simo4404. I'm not saying the bodies were not damaged by the breakup and the burning and the fall but what was left was recovered. And all were identified.

  • @Simo4404

All bodies were recovered. To be more specific, PIECES of bodies.

On one person's property there was a foot, a hand, a leg from the knee down, a thigh, a skull, a heart, and an upper torso with the chest ripped in half.

    Very scary, tragic, and sad.

  • fuck these wannabe heroes

  • that viseo stunk

  • Comment removed

  • I remember seeing this big boy take off in 1982-1983, good memories with the family. Fuck Repulikkans!

  • Me too. I want to see every vehicle NASA launches at a $20B+ development cost blow up until congress forces them to use cheap and reliable commercial vehicles like Atlas.

  • I want more explosions

  • thanks for post. I think it wa very tastefully done. They ARE ALL heros'

  • STS-107 Space Shuttle Columbia

  • NASA's fault that this happened

  • a moment of silence for those lost on this fatal reentry ......

    SALUTE TO THE LOST

  • Don't Police and Reporters won;t to tell more LIES,HELTER SKILTER,!!!

  • Why? they have a plane [AN2] Russian at 4.26 minutes

  • Allah wins again

  • @charfman84 clearly you dont know anything about him. so please stfu.

  • @ytr9127 Do you deny Allah? thats racist.

  • @charfman84 dude srsly wtf r u talking about? no man i don't. and even if i did how would that be racist?

  • @charfman84 i do. and im not racist in all. because i dnt believe in a god that ISNT mine. i dont believe in him. not racist at all

  • By using this song with the astronauts pictures you're basically saying that the astronauts were morons. You don't understand this Pink Floyd song, idiot.

  • sad video but the Music is a great choice. But it's a sad story. It's time to put the fleet to sleep. I hope they don't sell it as they planned but rather place them in glass cases in major cities for people to view... maybe move them around. But Florida, Texas and California help build it (as Im sure most states took part).

  • What's the difference between a space shuttle and rocket ship

  • NEVER FORGET: no one was arrested at NASA for murdering these astronauts, nor the Columbia astronauts, even though NASA confessed that it was criminal negligence (aka manslaughter)!

  • This accident happened on the day of my birthday.Rip to all that was on that ship

  • im reading into this on wiki but its not makin since to me when they said there wing was damaged, wiki is pointed out the triangle thing near the left wing, i thought that was an attachment or something??

    RIP to all

  • PHOENIX "SUPER LIFT" SYSTEM!!! MAXIMUM SIX STRAP ON BOOSTERS AROUND A CENTRAL 2 STAGE CORE!!! ALL INTERCHANGEABLE AND STANDARDIZED!!! TOP MOUNTED ORBITER!!! ALL TITANIUM ALLOY CONSTRUCTION!!! ORBITER "ESCAPE CAPSULE" (NOSE SECTION ITSELF)!!! 210 TONS LOW EARTH ORBIT!!! AEROGEL HIGH TEMPERATURE REUSABLE SURFACE INSULATION (IT'S BETTER)!!! A FLARED FUSELAGE WITH CHIMES (LIKE THE SR-71) GIVES THE PHOENIX MORE OF A STEALTH THAN ORBITER APPEARANCE!!! AWESOME! NOW I JUST NEED 10 BILLION! LOL

  • @Puff29646 faggot

  • THIS PIECE OF "JUNK" HAS KILLED 14 PEOPLE SO FAR!!! WHERE IS THE ESCAPE CAPSULE NASA??? THE ASTRONAUTS "KNOW THE RISK" THEY SAY??? OH, I GET IT!!! THAT MEANS "EXPENDABLE"!!!

  • @Puff29646 have you seen an escape pod? they ,uh, arn't used to fly but more like... fall. that is why they have a parachute. so. in space. when you give something even a little bit of force it keep going until something else hits it, bumbs it, gravity pulls it, ect. so they have to have something to push it out of the shuttle and it will float until something changes its coarse i mean ya they could put thrusters on it but will it surrvive the impact? i don't know dude.

  • @Puff29646 so you want to end space exploration cause people might die trying? I don't care for your sentimentalism. Better to die doing something adventurous than on your sickbed.

  • I spent 3 days combing the Texas countryside, from February 1 to 5, documenting Columbia debris sites from Rice to Nacogdoches. I am grateful that my supervisor let me take the day off from work on short notice to take my last trip. I found several pieces of debris that had been marked by other searchers, and I photographed them.

  • The Space Shuttle is a technological failure. A misconception. It's embarrassing that nasa is still operationg this crap.

  • nice vid. these guys are true heroes.

  • Damn ..... William McCool ( 2nd from right ) LOOKS LIKE KEVIN BACON !!!

  • is this the one where the teacher died also?

  • @MadisonNicole001 No it's not, that would be challenger. 1986.

  • @MadisonNicole001 No, that was Challenger.

  • no wonder nasa is retiring the space shuttle program

  • My cousin was the shuttle commander :(

  • The bags are filled with recovered pieces of the shuttle. The bags were marked with the precise gps coordinates of each piece of debris that had been located on that day. Those locations were then transfered to a map.

  • @pilotcoolbiz Yeah your right cause we have the space shuttle discovery now and I havnt heard of anything bad thats happend to that one.

  • Great video! But, I'm curious.. What's in the bag at 5:27?

  • GREAT TUNE

  • Great video, it all made perfect sense to me. Thanks for your efforts mate!

  • so first, there tether breaks. they loose the satalite. now, while reentering, they explode?!?! WHY?!?!

  • @AJproductions8910 You have 2 diff. missions mixed up. This mission was a spacehab mission strictly reasearch. The orbiter did not explode when re-entering. It broke apart due to a undetected hole in the wing.

  • exactamente como sucedio el accidente

  • I barely even heard of this shuttle accident.Theres hardly no communications or any footage. That's too bad that those guys at nasa are so uncopetent and just collecting fat checks.

  • RIP Michael, we will always miss you and the crew of STS-107. Civil Air Patrol TX WG did a great job in recovery efforts also.

  • THIS SUCKS !!!

  • omg the astronauts !

    they looked so happy

    rip

  • Those people are in heaven now....God bless them through all eternity !!!!!!
