this much is good, but more description would be better than the fast motion footage! Also, what's the best way to keep cables from uncoiling, if there's no velcro thing on em? and what about the figure 8 shaped method?
I've just designed a product for a company called Other Fish Limited who manufacture a grip device that will hold the cables in place once they are properly rolled. For anyone who's interested, check out the "Talon Grip" video response above.
I'm learning this in my Audio class right now, lol. I'll admit to having a bit of trouble with the over under wrap, anyone have any advice shoot it my way.
X, you can get them too small. Your goal is to preserve the twists in the conductors without imparting new ones, and to preserve the continuity of the shielding. If you go too small, you're starting to stress the shielding, and stress the insulation on the conductors and on the covering.
Depending on the diameter of the cable, the loop should be anywhere from from about ten inches in diameter for a short guit cord, to three to five feet across for a 6 channel, 250 foot snake.
Are you Staging Connections crew? Then watch this freakin video you pinheads and sart rolling cable properly before you worry about getting your grotty hands on a Hog.
@meev991 No shit its important. If you actually played an instrument you would know how much of a a bitch it looks when you unravel it not properly rolled up.
what the fuck was i thinking when i bought 10 meter cable for the amp that is half meter away from me -_-

@Lad0Barn0vi I bought 100m of cable and am currently using perhaps 5m total of the 2x30m and 2x20m sections it's been cut into.

I was wondering why all my solders were coming undone in my patch cords, and it was cause I was twisting the cable without knowing it.
thanks
