  • i have a female carolina dog and i think you do too

  • Awwww, she's adorable. And she absolutely has some Carolina in her. Love the breed.

  • With my limited understanding of the American Dingo, but 30 years of raising orphaned Australian Dingo, I would have to say that if this dog is not a Dingo, it is only about two shakes of a gum leaf from being one....she is a beautiful dog.

  • She looks Lab, Carolina Dog, with a SPRINKLING of husky and sharpei mix to me. --I do breed identification at a shelter and work as a veterinary ICU nurse. She's much larger than my Carolina Dog, more vocal, and her face shape isn't correct...cute kid though and her ears are spot on.

  • I am on my second Dingo. The first I had no idea what he was. But you definitely have a dingo there.

  • She looks exactly like my female Carolina Dog, just lighter in color. :) Wonderful dogs.

  • that tipe of dog is very sweet to its imediate family but dose not do well with other pepole i used to have bone but she bit too many pepole incluing the vet so we had to put her down

  • Who wants a nice bowl of diarea flavored chiili with some homemade butthole crust sprinkled on top.

Maybe some rotting maggot bread with a nice slimy terd dripping with juice soaking into the bread.

    mmmmm yummy.

calm down ,josh this might turn ugly.

    I love dogs

  • I have friends who own a couple of Carolina dogs, and she looks like them. Some people call Carolina dogs "American Dingoes." But Carolina dogs really seem to be dogs, not wild dingoes, even if they have been living in the wild for generations. They belonged to the Native Americans who lived in the southeastern U.S., survived their human population and lived in wild packs in swamps and woods for a long time, but they are not hard to re-domesticate, especially the pups of captured wild dogs.

  • That's a Carolina dog, not a dingo. Doesn't even look like a dingo...dingoes are Australian wild wolves.

  • I got my dog from the shelter. He was abused and was very timid, but we've had him for about 2 years and he's the happy little guy who watched this vid with me. Best dog breed ever.

  • i have a real dingo that i got from a friend when he viseted from alstrailia it's the best pup ever

  • What is a Carolina dog?

  • Maybe. The coat is a little short haired. Does the dog dig snout pits?

  • @DingoGirls Not all Carolina Dog's do this, Females seem to do it a lot more then males do.

  • i have the same problem he was a street dog and we went to a vet and he told us it was a german shepard mixed with labrador now i highly doubt what the vet said and think hes an american dingo

  • I just adopted a 3 mos old puupy from a shelter this week. His records say shepard mix but I bet my life is an American Dingo. In his shelter photo it shows his brother or sister who clearly looks nothing like any type of shepard. Half the dogs in the shelter said shepard mix. Anyways we have had him for only 4 days and he is such a sweet, smart boy. With the biggest ears. :)

  • @cristabelle76 That's what happened to us and our dingo.

  • My husband and i just moved to Florida from Canada. We adopted a dog from the local shelter, and after some research, like yourself, we think ours is an American Dingo as well. After watching your video, I see lots of similarities.

  • I have this same type of dog and boyyy was it expensive but i think mine was worth every penny :)

  • im not comfortable around dingos since a dingo ate my baby sooo...

  • @JamstaxOfficial for real

  • @EpicFTWTutorials ya, im serious its a mornful loss really :(

  • my grandma has thhis dog :)

  • I have a dog thats an American Dingo:) hes Awesome!

  • holy shit my dog looks exactly like the dog in the video, DAMN

  • it might be interesting to do a DNA kit. The Carolina Dog people might know of genetic markers to distinguish their dogs from a basic multi breed dog that reverted back to natural type.

  • its an AC/DC! Back in Black!

  • I had a dingo two years ago. The coat and ears& height of my dingo looks just like yours, but your dogs snout & eyes are definitely different. But what my dog was like, he was very attentative, and ran extremely fast, chased squired and cats. But trained extremely well too. A medium amount of shedding too.

  • @DJTmaq The "real" dingo is Australian.

  • I thought dingos wernt pets and they are very vicious?

  • @Shontaysia There's a world of difference between an Australian Dingo and an American Dingo. Australian dingos are wild and ferocious. American Dingos, on the other hand, were originally raised by the Native Americans, in the Southern United States. Some of them are still feral, roaming wild, but they make extremely gentle pets and are easily tamed.

  • @SaratheSlytherin oh wow. Well i think they are very cute lol

  • @Shontaysia So sweet. My Gretchen looks a little like them.

  • RARE DOG

  • this is DEFININATLY a AD/CD!

  • I think I have an american dingo I got this dog from the spca in canada and me and my vet can't figure out what it is it looks Identical to your dog how do we find out forshure

  • My dog Tama looks just like this dog. We got him from a Feeder's Supply but they didn't know how to identify him so they called him a half shepard/ half lab which he doesn't look a thing like to me.

  • Yeah true..but they're are dingo's really. Some may look like them. But dingo's arn't classified as dogs. Carolina dogs are.

  • Maybe, maybe not. it all depends where it came from. my grandmother had one. as a small puppy it wandered up during a winter storm. in our area we do have a lot of coyotes and a LOT of wilderness. but i havent yet heard of a Carolina dog by way of North Florida.

  • unbelievable! NO one is saying they are Dingo's. It's a nick name. Another is ' The silent dog.' We recently adopted a dog who came up from S.Carolina and could very well be a carolina dog. All dogs are special. These dogs are very stealth. And they learn unbelievably quick. Nothing like any of the other dogs we're had for over 30 years. If you've ever had the pleasure of being around one. You would know.

  • You know the name "Dingo" is the native Australian term for dog. A "dingo" is a native animal to Australia, It's somtimes also called the Australian Wolf. I don't know why we have to call ours native dog the "Dixie Dingo" or the "American Dingo" It's just copying the Australians.

  • Respectfully i dont i dont agree. i think some people do it just to give a visual. if i say Carolina Dog half the population will say "Whats that?" but once i say "it looks like a Dingo" a lot of people will say "oooooh!" i think calling it the American Dingo is just a short cut.

however i have never heard of anyone calling them Dixie Dingos. that just sounds silly lol I do prefer to call them Carolina dogs. i used to have one and she was truly a unique individual! she really stood out.

  • Carolina Dogs can be registered with the American Rare Breed Association[6] and the United Kennel Club.[7] ARBA includes the breed in its "Spitz and Primitive Group", which includes primitives such as the dingo and Canaan Dog. The UKC has classified them as a pariah dog, a class which includes other primitive breeds such as the Basenji of Africa and the Thai Ridgeback

  • my dog Star looks just like your dog. and I too was thinking she was a Carolina Dog. she didnt have any papers on her either and Carolina Dog is the only breed that we have come up with thats even to her. I think your dog is a Carolina Dog

  • There is no such thing as an "American Dingo" that's a Carolina Dog. Dingoes are classified as wolves not dogs. They howl not bark. Dingoes are very differant to dogs. They are a wild animal. They are more like a coyote then a Carolina dog in nature. But the Carolina Dog shares a small resemblance to a dingo, but is much differant.

  • llproductionsll, you have no idea what you are talking about, do a little research and maybe and its a big maybe, and you might not sound so stupid, proof reading may also help

  • i have the same dog but lilde

  • Great Video and thanks for uploading. Earlier today my own Carolina Dog old Shep who was 16 passed away :(

  • Maybe a little something else mixed in but she's definitely got a good dose of dingo in there! :) Very sweet, whatever she is...

  • OMG my dog loooks and act exactly likes yours.. we think she is a carolina dog too!

  • people from europe brought them here over 22,000 years ago.its a carolina dog.mine is a 8 year old girl.shes really hyper and i guess thats how all dogs are.

  • um FAIL. people from asia brought them over probably 14,000 years ago. Where are you getting Europe?

And the notion that your average yellow mutt might be an exceedingly rare wild American dog is a nice idea, but shouldn't be taken seriously.

  • how old is your dog????

  • She looks more like a lad/dingo mix. I own a full blooded one-- it is better if you get a DNA test.

  • you should get a DNA test for ur dog

  • Wow I have a Carolina Dog, just got her on June 24th and she looks exactly like your dog.

  • D-O-G spells dog, hound..

  • I own an CDAD and I think your dog looks closer to a Cannan Dog. Why not check with a breeder?

  • She's definitely a CDAD, no DNA test necessary. That would be like to taking a VW Bug to a mechanic to verify that it really is a VW Bug...

  • The AD/CD always has a solid black nose. She looks like a cute Lab Mix to me.

  • Looks really similar to the dingos here in Australia didn't know there was a such thing as a American ding thought it was only i native dog here hmm . Are they rare over in the states?

  • look up carolina dogs people think the indians might have brought them

  • I added a video response of our dog, Lucy. We got her from an animal shelter. We're pretty sure she's some sort of American Dingo mix too.

  • i have a dog like this but shes got a black tip tail and black snout and she got darker fur her name is kit~kat

  • Definitely Carolina Dog, even has the same bark as my Lucy.

  • carilina dog

  • Definately a Dixie Dingo. Very nice dogs.

  • Is there a registry for Carolina dogs because after looking at the videos of them here, there is no doubt I own one and didn't know. Either that, or there's a mass syndicate of people who steal my dog when I'm not home and make youtube videos with him...

  • lol, that last statement has to be the funniest thing i have read! (at least today)

  • You're not alone, mine seems to be a movie star, too! They are true creations of nature. No human influence created these dogs because they tend to live outside our society. The Wolves sucked up to Human hunters and became the roots of Poodles, Beagles, etc. The Dingo chose to stay at a distance and has survived very well in the wild. If you have one in your home that likes you, that's a true friend. You just can't have a better dog.

  • im wanting my first dog, i have spent time understanding dogs do you think a carolina is suitable for me?

  • I have a dog like exactly like this, that I adopted from Best Friends in Utah. My guess is that she's a Carolina dog/American dingo.
