  • Woohoo, 2nd sopranos!!!

  • This piece never fails to make me cry. It's utterly beautiful and very well performed may I add.

  • I just sang this with a small Womens ensemble and the four 2nd altos out of 20 voices were so rich I got many many compliments on the song and that part! <3

  • This song was sang beautifully! Outstanding ladies! :)

  • This is beautiful. We sang this in my senior year at SRHS for one of our concerts and for district festival, but it didn't sound nearly as rich as this. Michelle and I were both singing soprano I and we tried our best not to overpower the other sections, but we could only do so much. Except for like two or three others, the rest of the choir was mostly freshmen and sophomores, with a few juniors. This sounds like the recording we listened to when we first got our music!

    -Leslie

  • she directed the womens choir at districts this year!!! :)

  • I wish you could hear the Alto 2's more! Gotta represent ;)

  • My choir is going to be singing this for our upcoming concert :) yay!

  • beautiful song, wonderfully sung. My school choir sang this too, but we're such a small group it was hard, yet still beautiful

  • they should open their throats a bit more to give themselves a more mature sound. the song should also be slowed down a bit. but other than that its beautiful

  • @jacci45 This is the only speed I've ever heard the song. We performed this song at contest in my choral group, and scored Superior =)

  • This is such a beautiful song , the girls sing it fantastically .

  • the men in our concert choir sang this song for large group contest and they sounded amazing! this group also sounds very good i love this song :) i really like the part where it sounds like they're singing in a round, it's so pretty <3

i hope u don't mind me asking, but what happened to katelynn moore?

  • @lunaria94: Thanks - I've been interested in hearing the men's version of this song. Katelynn was a member of this ensemble who passed away in November of 2007 from meningitis.

  • @TrpleThreat22 oh, i'm sorry to hear about that :( that's very sad

  • i absolutely love this song.....and how the end is arranged it is almost like the song its crying in a way...hard to explain it i guess

  • you guys are great!!

you guys should try "the snow" by Edward Elgar

  • I love Rebecca Tyree. She and my choir director in HS were best friends, so I worked with her often. She's so talented; great direction and great sound! I'd expect nothing less from VCU :P

  • It's realy nice and beautiful, well done.

  • This Is Amazing! <3

  • My womens chorus is singing this for alumni weekend!!! :D

  • in fact i'm doing it with the girl below me lol!

  • i'm a freshman in highschool and we're singing this song for competition in 2 weeks! :D sounds good!

  • omg this is so good :) our choir is doing it for competition in orlando this year <3

  • that was beautiful! one of those sopranos have a really beautiful voice.

i have to sing this for chorus♥

  • I did this in denver for southwest association of choral directors.

  • I love this song!!!

  • wait. who is that directing? it looks sort of like the lady who directed the alabama alstate ssaa choir this year

  • Her name is Rebecca Tyree

  • aww never mind then. it's not the same person

  • @TrpleThreat22 SHE was my high school music teacher Hermitage HIgh School

  • Beautiful! I sang this in my treble choir freshman year, a wonderful choice of song, and well done!

  • I adore this song!! We're singing this in my women's choir this year! So excited. :D

  • this song was done at my county chorus. i love this song. amazing job

  • amazing.!!!!

    =]

  • This is beautiful, I'm going to recomend this song to my choir director. (And show him this video ;]) I'm sorry for your loss.

  • This was well done. The blend between sections was great. Vowel shape was incredible and movement through phrasing with dynamics is amazing! I would suggest "She weeps over Rahoon" for this girls choir. I will send a message with the exact information of the song.

  • Beautiful. Our choir is singing this at the moment. That was inspirational, I hope we'll sound as gorgeous as that.

  • Wow! beautiful control girls...I too am singing this in my female ensemble and it always makes me cry. Just beautiful, you should be so proud of yourselves.

  • wow, this was absolutely beautiful. I am in a freshmen women's only choir and we are performing this song for contest this semester. I lov this song, its truly moving and beautiful. especially when sung with as much talent and emotion as you all did.

one thing i noticed when we started this piece is that in a few spots the harmonies kind of clash, and shimmer and when i heard those spots in this video it gave me chills. and your canons were fantastic.

    Very beautiful

    <3

  • u guys are amazing! such womanly voices!

    which university is it?

  • This was the Women Ensemble at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you guys grow stronger.

  • this is the best version ive found. great job.

  • This is the best video I've head you girls did a beautiful song and it actually made me cry :'} We're singing this in my adv. choir and I wish I could show them this as a sort of "kick in the ass" if you will. Wonderfully done :]

  • Ironically enough, this song always makes me cry. It's beautiful, though!

  • I know, we had to try to hold back tears when we were singing this at a church . . .one of the girls who was in this choir passed away unexpectedly that November . . .we were TRYING to smile during this performance so we wouldn't cry!

  • I know how singing these types of songs can be so moving. My freshmen year one of our choir mates died in a car crash over the Christmas break. Randall Stroopes's "How Can I keep From Singing" was a definite tear jerker for everyone; even during a performance of the song at Carnegie Hall. You guys were poised and professional during your performance, and you sounded good.

  • this is one of thest renditions of this song so far

  • the edison high school mens ensemble in edison nj did this in 07 i believe very amazing

  • i'm trying to convince our choir director to let us sing this song for our heritage festival in anaheim. It' is such a beautiful song and when the dynamics flow seamlessly it's such a beautiful piece.

  • we r singing this song in a guys chorus. even though none of them are in mens choirs on youtube, i think it sounds alot better with the mens chorus. its a relly delicate songgg

  • would you please post a video if you get the chance??

I was blessed with the chance to hear a guys chorus sing it at one of the festivals we went to and it just made my heart melt

  • <3 this song. My chorus is singing this, and I just can't get enough of it. It remids me of New Moon, the second book in the Twilight saga. =)

  • very pretty, enjoyed this quite so.

  • such a beautiful song, i get chills when i hear it.

  • i sang this song in my chorus group last year. i love this song <333 great job

  • you guys did a great job, she loved singing with you:)
