Almost 3 weeks of being a non-smoker for me using Chantix (American version), haven't not smoked like this in 5 years (been a smoker for 15 years). I am very happy! Good luck and keep it up man!
@AbdultheImpailler thx this was a great video. even though, i couldn't really understand what that product you were proposing is all about... maybe as a canadian you are french-speaking and able to give me a short summary of it in french? or anyone out there... thx to ya all :-)
@jakluk4 Thanks Jak, I think I'll have to make another progress video this weekend, 9 weeks and counting now and I haven't smashed anything or choked anyone, it's been fairly smooth, a few little bumps along the way but nothing that changing my focus right away couldn't fix.
I'm on my way to becoming one of THOSE ex-smokers...not LOL
Hey, smoke 'em if ya got'em kids, none for me thanks
@doug1119 Thanks Doug, it's 9 weeks as of tonight, I'm still getting to odd craving but as soon as I think of soemthing else, poof the craving is gone, I'm starting to like this no smoking thing!
Good for you. Stick to it man. Even if you have to fall so far as to be one of "those" type of ex-smokers for awhile it would still be better than going back to smoking.
You are doing great thing for you and for your family.
My mom smoked at home & about six years after I left home smoke that never bothered me before sudenly started to bother me alot. That period can olney be worse for smokers, so it hard to not be an ass about it. Sometimes exsmokers & children of smokers have the same kind of nickfit reaction as smokers but we don't know it. Wish I understood that at the time.
@clawdfrawg I'm sure there will be tough times ahead but I'm going to try my best not to be a douchebag about it, only time will tell if I have to eat my words
good job, seriously... quitting smoking is a huge pain in the ass. Took me a few tries to finally quit for good. I don't know about the drug route, but I've heard they work pretty well :)
@tattooskin72 I wish it was only a pain in the ass I would have quit years ago, it's the mental instability part that I always had trouble with, logic always told me that I should want to punt a whining 3 year old across a store but when I tried quitting before those are the kind of feelings I would have, it was quite unsettling.
Now if it had just been a preaching creationist, I would have done it and went on with my day LMAO!
Congratulations man. I've been meaning to quit, but ehhh, I have so little going on in my life right now and smoking is a decent (not healthy by any means) way to take an hour out of the day. My mom is a smoke cessation specialist so if I ever want to quit I could probably do it pretty easily.
That is Awesome man!!! I hit my year mark this past 8th of April!!! The freedom from it is amazing, I went with using the Nicorette gum for 1 month and I've been Nicotine free since! :) You are right, you HAVE TO WANT IT! Great job and be victorious!
@AbdultheImpailler LMAO yeah I hear ya. Trust me over the past couple of years the gum has improved greatly. But it still has it's uniqueness, I got used to it after a couple days. The patch did nothing for me the first couple of times and then it was left to the gum if the gum didn't work for me I knew I would have had to do what you did.
Congratulations. I recently quit (one pack for over ten years) without a program or aid and the first week was torture. I was angry and twitchy one second and then exhausted the next. By the end of the week I was lethargic and drained and asked my lady to leave me in solitude to sleep. I woke up two days later with one less shackle. I'd guess a month later I stopped caring or counting. My friends didn't realize I quit until they asked for a lighter. Glad I never used heroine
@Mephistophilus I've tried quitting cold turkey before but was always bad, really bad, I'd get really twitchy like a methhead tweaking, I'd pace non-stop (you can't do that at work and get your work done), I'd lose my temper at the drop of a hat, literally, and then I'd get crazy emotional, it was nuts, I thought I was going to get committed by my family.
I'm glad I never used heroine too, I'd probably be dead now???
Still off those? If you are still then great!

Nice to know you've given up smoking. Hopefully you can keep it that way. :-)
When you say nicotine, it sounds as if you say Nykytyne, LOL! :-P
I decided that I'm never gonna start smoking after reading an anti-smoking flier around the age of 12.

@Akatam0t0ma Like most smokers say, "I wish I never started in the first place, why did I even start???"
Take my smokes...PLEASE!!! (my twist on Henny Youngman)
