  • i favorite this video by the way!!!

  • This is classic!!!

I wish the 90's hip-hop would make an comeback honestly...

i think i got "tribe vibe" in this song called: "M.P.K. - U Can Make It Alrite"

    please check that track out

  • I'm mad that I never heard this song before now, but I'm glad at the same time because now I can go on a Quest for more of their songs I haven't heard yet!!!!! XD

  • Whats that beat in the first 2 seconds? its a kanye song right?

  • @Jam8394 jay z encore :D ... ps. not a big fan of Jayz

  • @Jam8394 kidding? there is no way kanye would've been 8 years old when this came out.

  • @linguistic76 Dude, I hate Kanye now as every hip hop head does but do your research man. Kanye used to be dope, he produced nearly an entire album for Grav in 1996. And believe me, the beats are dope.

  • People listen to tribe but don't understand the history of these beats and how jazz and soul plays parts in their songs. Considering a lot of this is sampled over half of you listen but don't get it even if you think you do.

  • you know what the only thing better than 90's music would be ? A sick modern beat that you might hear now with lyrical styles from the 90's. Mix the best of both

  • Hip Hop = music that actually could sound good with jazz instruments.

Today's "Hip Hop" = anything with sick beat.

SAD! Take me back to the early 90's!

  • HIP HOP AT IT'S BEST!!!!

  • One of my all time fav hip hop joints. Proud to be 36 and know I still listen to real hip hop like this.

  • I dont know how I missed ATCQ the first time around. Im of the right age (born in 82) and always loved rap music. I used to listen to a lot of 'naughty by nature' and stuff, but somehow a tribe called quest managed to escape me. I've got 'em in my sights now though, and they aren't getting away from me! Every song i hear is awesome.

  • ok if you guys miss the old school time don't complain about it. you have to act on this. you have to go call ,radio stations, e-mail, tell music channels what you want to hear what you prefer what you like, you have the biggest influence in the music than you think just act on them complaining wont bring the music back acting on it will.

  • @jhammaster its not that easy cousin, I hear ya, but its not that easy , ts payola, controlled, by big corporations, before people get programmed, its already pre made, for instance BET (now owned by viacom) said they dont break new artists..and said it too DE %a Sol, thats what type of stuff tv and radio are on...everything gets a good 40 or 30 yrs...rock had 40 too. 88-97 classic years.

  • @gemenilaidback yeah it's not easy i never said it was going to be easy, but it will not hurt to try. it wasn't easy for the blacks to get there civil rights and alot of good people suffered, like king and the president Kennedy but they got it. so answer this? why is it hard to act on this?

  • @jhammaster yeah I feel you, we can try,

  • 7 people don't like hip hop.

  • I can't really even explain how I feel yo, im just crushed that hip hop changed when I was a lil kid, the worst part is reminiscing about it so much til u get sad, I just honestly hope society wakes up and brings back hip hop its more than music

  • @IAMLEGEND2545 I cry when I hear the horrible music that people of today call rapp and hip hop...The shit you hear today is GARBAGE!! I know that hip hop, r&b, and rapp will never be the same...The 90's was when TRUE hip hop existed... The 90's was when REAL rapp and hip hop were revolutionizing and pioneering the world....It has not been the same ever since. Music today has no depth or substance...No meaning...And more importantly, it has no heart or soul!!..Nothing is the same..

  • damn this beat is so FUNKY! i cant help but bop my head to the beat!!

a tribe called quest got rhymes for days!

  • this song is so ill...but im likin the remix with consequence

  • sounds like the same drums Tip used for Nas' "One Love"

  • Big up Morocco! Maghreb!

    Dope music man

  • i totally agree with ya ms, brings me right back in a good way, timeless!

  • the 90,s arguably the best decade in hip hop history!

  • @stephenallynhardin Agreed!

  • @stephenallynhardin Arguably???? Definitely.

  • @stephenallynhardin

    no argument needed ;-)

  • why is everybody saying where's hip hop and such.....its still there just search a little better....q-tip as a solo? common? the roots? jurassic 5? nas? do i need to go on? or try prop dylan a guy from sweden make's great hip hop ppl just search harder!!

  • Aaaaight , big up morroco ! and peace too y'all REAL hiphop fans around the globe ,! word

  • old school the real HIP HOP. the new "hip hop" is shit

  • A Tribe Called Quest thumbs up if you agree they bee the illest around!

  • 5 greatest emcees of all time

    1.Dylan

    2.Dylan

    3.Dylan

    4.Dylan

    5.Dylan...because i spit hot fya

  • wish it was still 1996, fuck 2010 everythings fucked up

  • BIG !!

  • Consequence rips in the song too...I think this is one of Quence's first verses. So few hip hop groups now seem to produce albums that are fun to listen to. Tribe always made that feel good hip hop that you appreciate cuz you know they were enjoying what they were doing. Bring Em Back!

  • whats the song at the very beginning from 0:01- 0:06?

  • @Freeskier475 Jay-Z's Encore

  • 1:03 Shout out to the J Beez! Native Tongues forever!

  • i member bein a little kid and sneakin tribe cds from my dad jst to stare at the covers. i was only 2 when this was out tho

  • Gotta love that Neo vibe

  • @PTSO09 fuck neo dude this is real hip hop

  • @Dallesi7 okay

  • one of the coolest album covers ever

  • @MsStarryEyed, in most of the hip hop tracks from back in the day weed was a part of growing up in the hood and goin down to the court to play ball. also whenever you light up and a dope track comes on it just makes you reminisce

  • @MsStarryEyed, in most of the hip hop tracks from back in the day weed was a part of growing up in the hood and goin down to the court to play ball.

  • whts the song in the begining?

  • @JaredSuperb Jay-z Encore

  • i love to puff la whenever i throw on a track by Nas, TCQ, Big, etc.. but i appreciate the music no matter what state of mind i'm in. from the instant i wake up to the last few seconds before i snooze, i stay bumpin that raw material. some people refer it to as just the "old school" but not me. i think of it as the ones that graduated on some hip hop shit. the one's on that higher lever with elevated minds. all these new suckas so wack they rap drop outs. but there's some that still keep it real

  • dose anyone know what the first audio snippet is from? or if its just for the advertisement?

  • Comment removed

  • @SuperQwerty420 It's from Jay-Z's 'Encore'.

  • @mikewazowski333

would you let Jay-Z rub his balls against your Adam's apple ???

  • Notice that they don't need to rap about "bitches", bling, cars and other empty materialistic things to capture the listeners attention.

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper oh shit 1 year lol

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper AUDIO ticket to another happiness. Audio=sound heard, Ticket=pass to anther area, happiness=something that mos people don't relate to music but really need to.

  • RIP Dilla

  • @seboufdu59 yeah RIP Dilla, but I believe Ali Shaheed Muhammad produced this track.

  • @ssaleem92 yea dilla didn't do this...a true dilla fan knws his beat patterns, chord patterns, etc...Everybody think Dilla did every Tribe song....lol..c'mon son..Ali needs a lil credit

  • @precisethe1 haha Q-Tip produced a lot of Tribe's stuff, and Shaheed was probably doing cuts and a little bit of mixing. I thought that he just served as the DJ of the group. But, when he produces, he's pretty darn good. Shaheed should've produced more tracks.

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper I thought I already said that..."This is NOT music. This is an audio ticket to another happieness"....The problem with youth today is that they don't know how to read.

  • @cristopher3890 or listen.or think.or live. i should know.i'm one of them :)

  • dawg, lil wayne and shit like that is trash compared to this (:

  • @asianinvasionbiotch thats great lets not talk about material genre than.

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper

Yeah, that's good! My lil bro is getting ears on this Audio Ticket.

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper I am sorry young Sir/Miss. You did not read what I said. This is NOT music..This is an Audio Ticket to another happiness...which supercedes "Music" as a lable. Good on you for feeling the flow.

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper

You got lil bro? TEACH him about this legendary stuff... When you get kids... TEACH em' bout ATCQ because this generation failed to recognize the truth.

  • @Grin8 Who you telling him to Teach?

  • @cristopher3890

Because the next generation is where it's at.

  • I'm 14 and there is nobody I know that knows about ATCQ.... WHY?!

I'm ashamed to have to teach people my age about them... ='[

  • @Grin8 cuz little kids are idiots these days

  • @XxCheesZ

    Obviously...

  • Yes, Thank You! Like Minded People! This Is Not Rap This Is Hip Hop...Trust Me The Difference Is Like Night And Day.

  • I want the culture that has flaked away since the millennium back. If I can't live in the past, I'll damn sure listen in it.

  • @Rozyonnie Shaheed did some? He did a ton, plus a great load of side work to(Tip aswell).

  • sikasss song

  • my favorite song off this classic album

  • this was my favorite song on this 1996 classic album natiely159 i'm really impressed that your 16 and bumpin tribe just like i did when i was 16 back in the 90's get on that peoples instinctive travels on the paths of funk and rhythmn! also low end theory and midnight muraders infact dude was right tribe never made a wack album

  • Tribe never made a bad album.

  • @SoliloquyOfChaos There fourth album was kinda mediocre in my opinion.

I take it your a GangStarr fan? Premo and Guru the dynamic duo

  • @dnoland1993 It was still better than anything produced in the last 10 years IMO.

  • ATCQ<3

  • "I keep it realer than the logo on milk"...that's dope!

  • LOOOOOOVE!!! ATCQ!!

its funny how im 16 years old n this is all i mostly listen too fuk the hip hop of these days

Elcetric Relaxation was the song that got me into the tribe

  • @natiely159 dang, thought I was the only one. Im 17 and electric relaxation is what got me into Tribe too. You right about hip-hop. Its not even hip hop anymore, its just rap. All it does is dumb down our communities by talkin bout shit like fairy tales that no one can relate to. I dont know how so many people can be followers and just go with the flow of mainstream. And till this day, I still wonder how I somehow didn't become one of them, but because Im not, to them Im so different

  • its funny that lemonade by gucci has 11 mil views, and this doesnt get the love it deserves

  • love this song =]

  • i still dnt believe that this song is real . . . feels like afterlife in heaven, this is GOD GIVEN TALENT

  • @yonkers43 hey a song i feel the same way about is Oakland Blackouts! by Hieroglyphics... or LA Song Sensitive Mix by People Under the Stairs. Hope you check those out and like 'em :)

  • @yonkers43 Oh also check out the artist The Pharcyde. Their album Labcabincalifornia is my fav so far. Songs like Runnin, Drop, Pharcyde, Devil Music, and The E.N.D. are awesome.

  • I like the remix one with Consequence. They're both so good.

  • too bad fuckers like soulja boy and gucci mane are alive... Just sayin

  • with lyrics smooth as h2o and beats so mellow no wonder why it beats the garbage we got today....Tribe 10/10 stars..

  • So chill.

  • Does everyone who hears good hip hop HAVE to relate it back to "Nice track to listen to when I'm smokin weed"?? Regardless of if it is, or if the artist smokes weed and raps about it, that's not all it's good for. Good songs CAN remind ppl of growin up, your hometown, etc. My goodness. Kudos to anyone who can enjoy hip hop without having to light up =/

  • @MsStarryEyed this music is a drug in itself, no need for additives

  • @MsStarryEyed Mabey while people were growing up the only thing the had to comfort them was weed and music. Ever think about that? some people don't have Fathers, some people don't have mothers, some people would trade their fathers AND mother for a decent night's sleep, a clean bed, and a morning that offered some sort of opprotunitiy. FYI, my spelling sucks, but I know how to get a point across.

  • Comment removed

  • @cristopher3890 My comment is directed to anyone who can't enjoy something simply for what it is without being dependent on a drug. Ex: listening to music, being around friends, eating, etc. This kinda music replaces my need for a drug, but apparently that 'priority' varies amongst people. I'm not hatin on people who love to smoke up but the association between the two (music and drugs) is overdone.

  • @MsStarryEyed You got it man, is it so difficult for some people to enjoy good music without having to have the influence of drugs to help their appreciation along, this shit is a drug, it makes me feel high in another sense of the word, man, real shit, real talk, athletic poetic for sure..

  • @1Utopian Yep, I definitely agree. It's hard even goin to concerts for these kinds of artists cuz the place gets polluted with that stuff =/ But yeah I love how every person can have their own set of songs that just put them in another state ;) Let me know if you want any song suggestions, and feel free to throw some my way too!

  • @MsStarryEyed Props to anyone who actually knows what Hip-hop is......

  • @MsStarryEyed lol, high or not hig its still good music : /

  • @MRTDubs2006 fuck yeah dude thats what alot of people dont understand. music shouldnt be good only when your high but thats what happens with the new generic shit

  • @MsStarryEyed I toke and appreciate music, both separately.but usually at the same time. Does that count?

  • @69RastaMama69 I could care less who smokes and who doesn't, but it gets annoying hearing about how people who don't smoke are "missing out".. I'm not here to judge people so idk what 'counts'. Regardless, my comment was for those who do not smoke, not to hate on people who do. People can like what they like I guess lol

  • @MsStarryEyed high or not... what u just said is a hole lot of timewasting

  • @carkis well ppl must care enough about the topic to have a debate going off of one comment.. and the # of ppl who Like my comment keeps going up. so its not me dude, its everyones reaction to it

  • @MsStarryEyed Exactly Bro,it makes a young gun feel like he has to smoke to truly enjoy the music, which is not true. This is great music,at least better then the rest of the B.S. I listen to now'a days, that's no simplicity. Let's sit back and Enjoy the music, with my doritos and orange soda! :)

  • @MsStarryEyed agreed, never touched a drug in my life and i love hip hop.

  • @MsStarryEyed light up a j and listn to ur fav song by quest and see if yur head doesnt come close to bobin off hah

  • the tribe is the best hip-hop group EVER!!!! (it's my opinion)

  • Cranking the tribe last nite. Been cranking em for years. Their shit is timeless.

  • Put this CD on right when you wake up and smoke somethin and tell me you dont feel like your on another planet! This cd is amazing!!!!

  • the smoothest album ever made.

  • @x8swift8x no it's not. their early work is much more smooth. An album with raw beats like Phony Rappers isn't in contention for the smoothest.

  • @WillMillion15 their early work is a lot sillier, but not smoother. Get a Hold, Keep It Moving, 1nce Again, The Pressure, The Hop, Mind Power, and Stressed Out are all way too chill not to be on the smoothest album ever made.

  • this is straight out dope!!

  • its really sad to see the tribe songs get this few views...and im sure half of you have been back more than once hah..i know i have

  • HipHop is the love of my life. My first and My last. If you cant feel this music your parents probably didnt hugg you enough or some shit hahaha

  • soul

  • classic album cover

  • Support Independent music, create music from the heart and soul.

  • This was my first rap album i ever bought. I was 7 lol

  • @AndromedaV1 that's an awesome first album to have

  • nice!

  • This joint and Get A Hold is 2 of my faves off this LP even though the whole album is timeless, check my beats when y'all can and spread the word, I'm tryna play my party in keeping this real hip hop shit alive and kickin

  • i remember my brotha use to Jam to a tribe called quest back in the day when i was young kid

  • this is of the hook

  • this is freakin' beast , long live old school!

  • dam i love this track

  • i cant stand the snare on this song its too sharp .... makes my eyes wobble when it hits

  • im old skool what about you ?

  • loving the jazz beats

  • I am sorry if I Offend some of you, but this is not music, this is a Audio ticket to another happiness. DEFINATELY NOT

(c)RAP, this is straight flow that needs to be reintroduced to kids these days.....

  • YESSIR!

  • @cristopher3890 your right man this isnt music its more than that its just pure flow that just relaxes and revives anyone who hears it

  • @cristopher3890

sad to say, but the tribe is part of freemasonry too,

really check out their lyrics, its not just a few people but an entire matrix,

look up the history of hip hop and what the name means

  • @PuffinToRelax sad to say, but tha freemasonry bs is bs, its another seedling to further divide us..tha evil is right in front of us all right now.. literally peace..

  • @gbvicknewman While I believe all that is out there about freemasonry and illuminati, it has been taken way out of context and is potentially dangerous. Knowing too much can be used against us, like "PuffinToRelax" says about the meaning of hip-hop. I haven't actually read into that but it sounds like BS and it could be someone using this freemasonry as a means to make certain people or things look 'evil'. Hip-Hop has been quelled since the 80/90's, free speech don't see the radio no more, why?

  • @PuffinToRelax

i kinda belive all that freemasonry illumanti shit but

wasnt their goal to dumb the people down n shit

atcq is the oppisite of dumbing people down

  • @cristopher3890 You're a fuckin moron. Your tendency for grammatical errors is directly related to how ignorant you are. This is the golden era of hip hop at its finest. Go stick your head in the snow fuckhead.

  • @mermaidinjeansxo Did you even compredend what I said? Obviously not. Stop doing Crack and smoke a Bowl, Joint, Cone, Bong and MABEY you will get a clue.

  • @cristopher3890 hip hop - COMPLETELY different than what the radio calls "rap". good point.

  • @cristopher3890 Audio ticket I like that

  • @cristopher3890 You do mean rap today? Becuase rap today is sloppy and sucks.

  • @bugface92 no I ment (c)RAP...that would be Crap if I had to spell it out.

  • it so coooool .... like this "old" sound. dont understand to new rap, its like disco or what.

  • ali shaheed should get an oscar for all those beats over the years, definately upthere with the greats

  • ain't tip produce most of them shits on midnight marauders and beats rhymes life?

  • yo these beats are soooooo kool...

i love tha slow piano beats always been a fan...

  • so they took a piano sample and slowed it up is that what ur saying?

  • Yo we need to smack the Lil Wayne out of these youngins haha

  • word up

  • more young people need to listen to this. educate themselves on what real hip hop is.

  • I so agree sir!!!

  • This was my puff son fo a minute lol

    sweat sensi.

  • You can tell it's mostly Dilla on most these songs.. Constant Conant Gardens bangin'

  • @codaquinn12 You know how you can really tell which track Dilla produced on Beats, Rhymes, and Life? Check his discography on Stones Throw, or if ya want to be really certain, look for the tracks that have J.Yancey under the credits. This track in-particular doesn't have it, so either Tip or Shaheed did this beat.

  • Right Dilla doesn't produced this track.

Dilla's productions on 'Beats, Rhymes and Life' album :

    * 1nce Again, * Get A Hold, * Keeping It Moving, * Stressed Out, * Word Play from Beat, Rhymes, & Life, Album (1996) JIVE RECORDS

    RIP Dawg.

  • whats that first song before the actual song starts?

  • Jay Z- Encore

  • Is consequence in this song?

  • yep! beautiful ain't it?

  • oh men i have 14 and i think that i have had born in another generation of h2 like this!

H2JAZZ is da shit ;) from chile sudamerica

  • To all the teenagers out there...this is REAL HIP-HOP. 90'S NYC. QUEENS 2 BE EXACT!

  • Jay Dee came from the D :P

East Coast hip-hop > West tho

  • Beats Rhymes and Life is the best Hip Hop album EVER. I can´t find one better.

  • so smooth

    mind power

  • I slept on this album back in 96 because I kept trying to compare it to Midnight Marauders. Once I stopped doing that recently I started to enjoy it.

  • sounds like the horn from

pete rock ft cl smooth - troy

  • smoke

  • feel ill just listen'n to this track

  • Why, WHY can't we find this real hip-hop today?

  • Sublime production!

  • True Hip Hop.

  • OoOoOoOoO SHIITT!! this is a fuckin proper track. man o man golden era of hip hop i miss those days. the kids of today need to hear shit like this n know whats really good (y). they gotta know mainstream is bullshit
